What did you do to your bike today?

some motorex stuff,it came with the chain kit

I forget what I normally use without going to look

It still seems absolutely crazy to me that they don't include dampners on 600 sportsbikes, they easily have enough power to tank slap, even at road speeds never mind if you ride them hard or take them on track.
First thing I would do is fit one if I had one, cant stand riding my friends ZX6 as the steering feels all wrong without one.

I agree,my zx6r doesn't tank slap at all but its an older model,my zx10r is absolutely deadly without one

(if it does work and I don't mame myself, then that cheap tool I bought was a good buy imo £11)

I kicked my bike today. Damn thing died on me on the way to work. It's the infamous Rocket ignition switch issue.

Whoever at Triumph decided that running two 55W headlamps + two 55W spotlamps through the ignition switch without relays needs to be shot.

I'll rig up a relay system for the lamps and replace the ignition switch at the weekend. Looks like a fun job as to get at the security bolts I have to remove the top yoke which means lifting the bike off it's wheels. That's going to be fun with a 350kg machine.

Hahaha!! Seriously?! Time to tinker and sort out their mess.

I feel for you man, that's one heavy bike to deal with.

it'll be hard to get those security bolts out, think you have to drill the head off and mole grip whats sticking out,out

especially if they use locking thread on them

My zx12 behaves it's self with out one but does have a little weaver from side to side at 160+ need to check swing arm bearing.

But if you want serious tank slap try a TL1000s with out a damper it will kill you :D

I think its the headstock angle/rake isn't it? that and the gyroscopic motion of the front wheel if it leaves the ground?

not sure, but thank god for steering dampers

I ain't sure what type my front brake pads are but I've just ordered some ebc hh ones, will they give me a better lever bite than gg ones?

I've tried to sort out my brakes as they felt really spongy compared to my mates yam fz1. I've done a brake fluid change, rebled all air out, used cable tie over night and rebled calipers and did the MC and still can't get a good lever bite.

Bike is Suzuki sv650s k3

Tell me about it, this was going to have me off had I not remembered to open the throttle.. the pistons in the caliper were 4 full pumps in...

Going to make sure the suspension is set to stock tonight, then see about getting it adjusted, because I only weigh 60kg I'm not really heavy enough for the bike, it doesn't sag at all with me on it.

Damper is on my mind... felt like selling the bike last night afterwards

My old 675R used to shake it's head a lot, got into a few slappers. Nothing to serious luckily.

Went down to see the Grand kids this afternoon/evening, Cruised down & had some fun on the way back, I've done 444 miles in 48 hours ownership. :p
Today was proof I did the right thing though, Nice day with free time so I jump on the bike & go see the Grand kids. 2 hours 15 mins to get there & didn't even think about stopping, Same on the way home just jumped on it & rode home, I only stopped for fuel.

Checked and dropped the pressures in my tyres last night, the problem with running a Jap import bike - everything is in Japanese!! they were a few PSI too high, noticed the front wandering when filtering. felt much better this morning in the ride to work. Soon be new tyre time :)
