I use the Sonax quick detailer as well - very impressive stuff, brings the Westfield up a treat:-

Obviously not being able to use a jetwash on the above means a good quick detailer is a must!


Had to clean the Cosworth today with all the Sahara dust from last night!

Sun really sets of the pearl effect in the paint.

I never knew they made a cosworth Scorpio :confused: is it same engine from Sierra Cosworths? bet that's rare. How many Bhp etc has it got?

Yeah - only about 200 facelifted Scorpio Cosworths left. Engine is bigger that the Sierra/Escort Cosworth ones :-)

2.9l V6 24v quad cam, 207bhp. Mine has piper cams, induction kit and chip - pushing about 250bhp.
 
What leather cleaner do you guys use?

I've heard good things about Gliptone?

The leather isn't in bad condition so don't need anything too strong/abrasive.

I don't think it smells like anything amazing, it just smells like fresh leather. Of course I am previously a Zaino Z-10 user so pretty much nothing will compare to that stuff for the fragrance.

Other than that, Gliptone Gentle leather cleaner (it comes out like honey) and then Gliptone leather feed (it comes out like melted ice cream!). It produces the best results I have seen yet. Leaves the leather with a soft matte finish once it has worked its way into the leather.
 
Oh god. Stop giving me ideas of things to buy...

Having received my California Duster, Wheel Cleaner and Quick Detailer this week, I added up I've spent £380 in the last two months on cleaning products :( (Granted, £130 was a pressure washer)

Don't let me move on to the interior...

Haha it is an expensive habit but you probably save a small amount of money in the long run compared to going to the local hand car wash every weekend. ;)
 
I'm nearly out of Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax and fancy trying something else other than meguairs. Ive been looking into the Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Autoglym HD wax as from what I have been reading the results should be very impressive.

Has anyone tried the Autoglym stuff and what are there options on it, also what are the other current favourite polishies and waxes of choice on OCUK?
 
I've always used Super Resin Polish and been happy with the results. However what's the difference with wax? Is it to be used instead of, or in addition to, the polish? If so, what goes on first?
 
Snow foam lances - which of the would you recommend? There doesn't appear to be a compelling reason to spend £10 more on the latter?

Apologies for all the questions - going to order a few things including a clay bar. In the winter I usually stick with the local hand car wash and when the weather gets better I do it myself, but this year thinking of going a bit more advanced than the usual shampoo and polish :p

Polish is normally used to clean the paint and wax forms a protective layer. Polish can have varying levels of 'cut' or polishes like SRP have fillers that fill the little swirls and scratches in the paint.

You polish then wax anyway.

You can get somthing virtually identical off ebay for around 16 quid that does the job.
That's where I got mine and it's superb

I've always used the same wax though and it's always lasted the same length of time throughout. I always gently wipe after spraying on quick detailer, just enough so water marks go away.

Actually I recommend the 99p store specials. I used to buy Meguiars Quick Detailer until I discovered 'Astonish Spray and Shine' which costs 99p and does exactly the same thing and leaves exactly the same finish.

Why pay £8 for the same product?
 
I've got other Astonish products and they're hardly 99P store "specials" though to be fair, they're good quality products that just so happen to be sold in 99p stores as well as supermarkets and the like. Never knew they had a quick detailer though.
