Car Hit While Parked

Yeah, could easily look as through the fiesta drove into the pug at the angle that the wheels are facing. Not sure the photographs will help determine who is at fault. Surprised that there is a hole in the pug's bumper.

Peugeot drivers :(.

I've had the same happen to my Volvo 5 years ago, was really annoyed. Why are the police not interested ? Clearly a case of driving away from an accident, which is a crime. Useless *****, seems the UK police is just as rubbish as over here.
Hopefully most of it will polish out though! If it's not gone through your paint!

Poor driving is driver specific not brand specific.

They are interested, it just seems the OP, like yourself, expects an immediate response when that's not how low-priority things like this are actually dealt with.

Ironic then that the OP's car has parked in the same manner as the car that struck it judging by the turned wheels and squint position. Karma in action?

It's not really karma if the Fiesta driver used the technique successfully without hitting anyone - you can argue that maybe they were luckier or just better at it than the Peugeot driver but it's not exactly fair in a karma sense for them to be hit. For all we know the Fiesta driver either pulled into the space like that when there was no other car in the adjoining space or that they would have stopped and started again if they'd realised they were going to hit the next car to them by swinging into the space.

st@nners: good luck getting it sorted out and although it's a bit of an unwanted hassle it's definitely worth just going along as the police ask and presenting the documents.

Point being they swung it in in one move.

Ah, yes.

I disagree; positions of scratches would only happen if the Fiesta had been reversing into the bay and I 99% doubt that would ahve happened give the driver position so close to the Pug. Anyway, some close photos of the scratches now (before cleaned etc) should help clarify direction of scratch an Pug movement.

If there are marks that cannot be polished out then you are looking at a bodyshop repair. Candy Blue (colour of your car) is a 3 stage metallic which cannot be smart repaired :(

Somebody drove into me at a roundabout and left; police weren't interested in the slightest and said there was nothing they could do.

Angry is not even the word!

Given that you have the photos and number plate surely you should have some form of recourse.

Which one is the OP's car. Do we even know?

I presumed his is the Peugeot and the car guilty of the accident is the Fiesta.

How did you come to that conclusion? It is quite obviously the other way round. :p

Is it? Fiesta could have reversed into that space like a loon and hit the Peugeot. Judging by the stance of both cars in that picture, it looks like the Fiesta is the culprit ( or at least that is what I first thought).

Though having read the thread properly the OP mentions it dented his door so I am wrong :p

Has anyone noticed how close the fiesta is parked next to that dark coloured car to its left?

tbh your mrs needs to work on her parking skills too...
Good luck catching the other driver. Such a pain when people damage your car and leave.

I had some pleb in a zipvan reverse into my parked car at ~5-10mph. I was sat on a door step away from the car so he just moved forward and parked as if nothing happened. I went to confront him and he goes to me "bumpers are supposed to withstand impact at 30mph so it's all good". Didn't apologise or anything. Said a few nice words to him and as there was no damage I took pictures and reported him to zipcar. It turned out that he is a water boy doing deliveries and they had a word with his employer.

If the differently coloured bricks in the car park are anything to go by then it's fairly well within the limits - of course that doesn't mean the Fiesta driver is good or bad but provided the bricks to demarcate the spaces are reasonably placed then it might be the dark car which is closer to the line than otherwise.
