****Official Project CARS thread****

Still undecided but leaning towards a pre order after watching that German dude on Twitch. I'm an impatient mug :(

watched that a fair bit over the weekend and its does look impressive, looked a bit twitchy with some cars but he was using a pad and we have no idea what options/aids he was using.

Im really looking forward to getting this, i'd go digital but if it sucks im stuck with it. Must be patient and wait for Friday.

He said he was a massive Forza fan but pCARS blows it out of the water.

I've not played Forza, but that's a bold statement.

From what I've seen over the last few months. it blows both Gran Turismo and Forza out of the water.

Apparently they'll be crowd sourcing for their next game.... Am I the only one who is against this?

I can understand doing this for their first game. To gather interest. But doing it again is plain greedy. No?

So people have to pay them to make the game then pay them again to buy it. lol.

Lol.

Do those who invested. Still have to purchase the game?

I think those who invested in the first instance either get it free or at a reduced rate. Also, those who invested may get a return on their investment should the game sell enough copies. I think somone mentioned 250k earlier in the thread, though I think it was also mention due some change or complication it wouldn't be crowd funded in the same way.

Reduced rate.... I'd expect the game for free.

I think it depends how much you pledge whether you get it free or at a reduced rate. I've no issue with it tbh, it's fun, you get to play the game at every stage of development and see it improve, grow and become a success (hopefully).

There is multiple ways they could work it, I just don't know how they chose to. I would have thought the simplest would be to treat simply as an investment i.e. you put in X% of the money to make the game, you get X% amount of the profits. Though maybe they have worked it as the original investment comes off the price of the game so if you only invested £5 it costs you £35, conversely if you invested £40 or more you get it for 'free'.

From a business perspective it wouldn't seem to make sense to give everyone who invested it for free though I am sure one of the PC brigade will be by soon and explain how it actually works.
