*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Oh really? I'm a bit confused wasn't there gonna be another reveal today (sure it was the raid replacement) - from what you are saying they postponed it?

Any reason why

There was, it was rubbish because the guest was a bell.

Anyway - essentially:

Prison of Elders

Four levels of difficulty for Prison of Elders: level 28, level 32, level 34, level 35

Level 28 will have NO weekly lockout, but 32, 34, and 35 will

There are 6 versions of PoE for the challenge modes (32, 34, 35)

Level 35 will be the same each week, but each week, 32 and 34 will change. There are 5 possible "curated" versions for 32 and 34.

The Prison of Elders consists of 4 Rounds, each Round having 3 Waves to eliminate, then a Strike-style boss after the 4th Round

Starting with Round 2, Critical Objectives can appear after Wave 1 or Wave 2. Examples seen in the stream included timed mine defusing (capture each zone before time runs out or you wipe) and VIP kill (just like the public event, but failure = wipe)

After Wave 2, you get The Gift, which can be a Scorch Cannon (more on that bad boy later) or a Heavy Ammo chest. There might be additional Gift possibilities, but those two are the ones we saw.

Also a new weapon class, called Sidearm - there was a pistol in the special weapon slot.

/edit

Nice video (not from stream, but much better)

Thanks for that - I'll watch them tomorrow - at first glance there needs to be something that keeps it fresh for as long as possible.

its a little worrying that a poorly coordinated team who had to concentrate on commentating nearly got to the end of the lvl 34 content

broman and gothalion (from the reef reveal) werent my cup of tea at all but its a good idea getting community players involved

I was thinking about booting this up for the first time since October. I really fell out with the game but I did buy the guardian edition and did enjoy the game for 60 or so hours.
So with a 6 month+ break I am sure I can get some enjoyment out of the new content.

Anyone fancy filling me in on what I have missed?

I ended after doing the VoG Raid a few times and think I was around Lvl 29.5...or maybe I got to 30.
I have played no additional content since launch and don't even know what additional content is out.

I'll have to get my name back down for co-op once I do play it again. Might have time to jump on at the weekend.

Watched this last night (with the sound off :p), like the look of it and the fact that the challenges will be relativity different each time. Down side is that its only a fire team of 3, part of the fun with a raid is the banter you you have with the 6 running it, and the fact there are no saves save points so you have to finish once you start.

The only thing about that was that they were all lvl 24, with maxed 365 weapons, for a short period of time most will be 32/33 with probably only exotics at 365

I've read that some of the PoE bosses have shields that switch their elemental type periodically, sounds fun :)

All in all looks like a fun change of scenery, looking forward to it

I thought it gave your team a checkpoint after each round? Or is that just for the current session if you all die?

Doesn't look like it's going to take a long time to complete with a half decent fireteam anyway to be honest and I'm sure they'll be a tonne of good strategies and such posted up in the first couple of days to make it a bit easier!

I've just recently hit Level 29 on my Sunsinger on the PS4.

Have not done any Nightfall, VoG or CE before, so I would love to do these at least once before the expansion is out. I'm guessing with the Light increases, they will not be run as much anymore?

Also, other than my 2 colleagues from work who play, I do not know anyone else on PSN, so it would be great to add a few of you guys here. I'm usually online after work from about 8-9pm after I've had dinner, and I'm on until midnight or so. I don't want to keep relying on them each evening, as they also have their own close group of friends they regularly play together with. So it would be great to team up regularly with others myself.

PSN account: kietikovskiy

I put you down for a VoG raid tonight...can you confirm if you can make it or not?

Just ran the NF and got the obsidian mind helmet... Great except the fact that I only have one character which is a hunter.... thanks RNG!

Its worth starting a second character for that helmet. Best warlock exotic imo - partner it with the bad juju pulse rifle (both help you gain super energy) for nova bomb madness! :D

Thunderlord, nice! Finally get to see what the fuss is about.
It's a good weapon but it is slightly overrated, no doubt due to the people who have it trying to rub it in the faces of people who don't.

It was my first ever exotic weapon (or legendary for that matter) so I have a soft spot for it, but I rarely ever use it.
