Food poisoning.... grim

Only partially true, it's not the reheating of the rice that is the problem, its to do with how it was stored before reheating - if stored at room temperature inhabiting bacteria can multiply:

I must be dancing with death on a weekly basis, usually I just drain the rice, put a portion on my plate and then leave it out for reheating the next day :o

I know it's wrong, but I've survived this long!

Rice went into the fridge once it had cooled after the meal.

TBH I doubt I will be eating rice any time soon.

I had food poisoning when I was a teenage. I remember it well now. Same thing. same feelings.

I didn't hallucinate so feel a little short changed tbh, must try harder next time.

I certainly feel better today but still can't keep anything down.

tried to play GTA 5, got dizzy, puked. Back in bed.

Going through his myself at the moment. :( I point the blame on a pizza that my brother brought me from a night out last Saturday. Pretty much vomit & toilet every hour since. Scales put me at 4 pounds less than I was!

Not the best way to be shifting weight.

the thing with reheating takeaway food is you don't know if it was ever fresh in the first place.

to many places use ready cooked meals and just reheat them....

pretty much out of date as soon as they are reheated

Dodgy paella in Tenerife
Dodgy random offal sandwich in Turkey
Dodgy Idon'tknowwhat in Cuba

Only times I've properly done no.2 that could've gone through the eye of a needle uncontrollably (think dumb and dumber). Only the turkish sandwich prompted both end action.

No. Fun. At. All.

I wonder if Bear Grylls suffers from D&V often especially when you see him trying to hydrate himself from rinsing out Camel dung?

2 points I'll quickly make

Many people wrongly diagnose themselves with food poisoning.

There's a high chance that the poison you received was not from the last thing you ate. Some food poisoning can stay dormant for up to several weeks.

I'm surrounded by Microbiologists btw ;)

Thank you.

the only reason I say what caused it, is because my other half has eaten the same as me for weeks. this was the first meal we varied on.

I have a strong stomach to most food but one time I did get possible food poisoning few years back was quite possibly the worst I've ever been, discounting my accidental poisoning as a child of course :D

In hindsight eating questionable chicken wings in a hot and humid climate was just pushing my luck too far.

Norovirus was the sickest I've ever been. The wife had it at the same time. We were literally taking it in turns running to the bathroom to puke, crossing in the hallway, all night. Fortunately, it was all over in 24 hours and we both felt fine quite quickly.

Had it a year ago over the weekend from a Chinese takeaway. Hardest part was trying not to drink too much water as it just came straight back up, but I was so thirsty and tasted too good I started not to care.

Being in the food transportation industry our drivers cpc training covered food poisoning.

At room temperature the bacteria in all food sources multiplies by itself every 20 mins.

When that count gets to just 500 then that's enough to put you in DEEP trouble !!

Then there's the dude that's just had a real intense arse scratching and then opened a door... along come you next... Open that door... Then maybe each a packet of crisps etc.

Ooooooooooh I don't feel so good !

Yeh, its bad :(

I got a bad dose from an aldi fillet steak and was puking my guts up and bed ridden for 24 hours :(

Despite a post only 4 above yours saying that microbiologists claim that it's hard to know which week you ate possibly bad food, you seem to know the exact ingredient. Amazing.

A mate was in the US backpacking and the story he tells was that he was out in the desert somewhere and was seriously ill - both ends evacuating. He said he was curled in a ball and didn't know how long he was there for - sweats, chills, visions etc!!

Anyway, he had the black bile and 'clumps' when there was nothing left to puke. He got to the docs who apparently said the black stuff was undigested meat that had been in system for years and it was a good thing that the stuff came up.

I've got the immune system of a horse and very, very rarely ill which I must get from my parents, however I was floored by a Dairylea cream cheese triangle :(.

We had a ridiculous car journey last year stuck on the M25 in 30 degree heat with no air-con and they were sat in the car with us. I transferred them to the fridge that night and had them the next evening with a salad.

Almost 8 hours to the minute later it felt like I had a balloon in my stomach and all hell broke loose when I had an Alka Seltzer.
