****Official Project CARS thread****

Is that confirmed?
Heavily rumoured is best way to describe it - Logitech now featured on the PCars page when before it wasnt (even after confirmation that there would be PC support), being coy on a recent interview and this is on top of all the details of the patents that caused this mess expiring at the end of the year.

This isnt something thats gonna happen quickly but Im willing to wait, would be great if it happens but no guarantees

ps3ud0

What settings are good for noobs using a DS4, i really struggled to stay on track yesterday night lol only had a few laps mind.

I'd like to know this too.

P.S are you on my friends list ? Feel free to add me if not, I'm going to try and get a series up and running if we get enough people.

I'm using the below found on reddit forum, seem ok. No settings help much with the first 2 laps on cold tyres, you just have ease of the gas until the tyres are warm.

First set to input mode 2
All deadzones:0
Steering sensitivity:30
Throttle sensitivity:45
Brake sensitivity:30
Clutch sensitivity:45
Speed sensitivity:75
Controller filtering:35
Force feedback:100
Advanced: off

Thanks, have you drove the Super Karts? how you find them, very twitchy and hard to drive i need to determine if its me being bad or in need of settings tweaking :p . Might try a car tonight to see how I cope.

Only driven a clio cup car so far.

Im also using "real" for the driving aids. Don't think the clio had any abs and tc so I was quite pleased to get around the track.

I may be wrong but control filtering kind of dampens everything such as the higher it is the car will not be as twitchy, good for keeping car rock steady at high speed but if it's to high it feels like driving a boat.

Thanks, will input those later and see what I make of them.

My first race was Donington, my pole time was 3 seconds faster than second. That's why I upped it for race 2. Even then they were really slow through the old hairpin, so slow that I struggled not to hit them during practice.

I find that a bit weird since during development we could report where we thought the AI was slow.

My pole time at the Donn was around a second faster. Under the hardest difficulty.

I'm I being silly for wanting it to be even tighter?

Is there a easy way to get gear up and down set to the buttons and not bumpers or do i have to reassign everything

These are the settings i'm using on XB1 on a pad, they work well for me with no assists in cockpit/helmet or bumpercam with GT3 & M1 Procar.

mode 3
steering 0 10
throttle 0 40
brake 0 40
clutch 10 45
speed sens 80
controller filtering 0
force feedback 60
advanced off

!

You've made it playable now for me! THANK YOU! :)

Done a few track days with about 10 lap races, I thought it was a requirement to pit at least once during a race but I never have to despite having fuel usage and full rules enabled?

Does it depend on the length of race I set?

Thanks

In career mode some races will require pit stops yes. Your race engineer will tell you when to pit.

I'm personally going to wait till they fix all the pit bugs and add the pit crew till I touch most of the career mode.

Also as a test. On my PC I tried an Xbox 360 controller and ps4 controller same mode 2 settings, the 360 controller felt all wrong. Car controls were hideous compared to a ds4 so something very wrong there. I did this as lots are saying handling is twitchy.

On ps4 I felt it's a dream to handle via gamepad, but on PC with a 360 controller it's a nightmare compared to a ds4 same settings..

Must be another bug..

Thanks, yeah I'm finding the ds4 pad fine, I'm using the settings I posted above.

You've made it playable now for me! THANK YOU! :)

Glad they helped you out :)

I've since changed mine to these after playing for hours yesterday (signed off work...)

steering 0 5
throttle 0 30
brake 0 20
clutch 0 45
speed sens 75
controller filtering 50
force feedback 60
advanced off

cockpit camera 70 (moves you closer to windscreen, this does make a difference)
difficulty 70

These settings work great for everything i've driven without assists (most cars except road and old open wheel so far).

The only tuning settings i've had to change so far is the brake bias to 50% on the capri & cossie. Both would lose the backend under very heavy braking when set to the default 60% on hockenheim & nurburg GP.

After putting many hours into this game in the last day, i think it's excellent.

That depends on what racing games you like, if you come from NFS, Burnout sort of arcade racing then driveclub aternatively if you come from forza or GT or PC sims like iracing, LFS, rfactor etc the get this.

This or driveclub? I have driveclub brand new and sealed but not sure if I should sell it and get this instead

Driveclub is more fun to play if you ask me.

As above if you like more jump in racing like Project Gotham then Driveclub is better. If you are more into Gran Turismo without the tuning then go for P-cars.

Has anyone else received/not received their pre-order DLC bonus from Amazon?

Only started playing for a short while this afternoon, but already I know I need to sort out the control settings before going into the game any further. Just lapping Silverstone in the RUF GT car for now while I get settled with something I like.
