What did you do to your bike today?

Filled up after my 100 mile ride at the weekend and another 100 miles commuting to work, the 100 miles at the weekend were mostly spent north of 7-8krpm, plenty of redline (14k rpm) action :D because of this I was expecting to be hitting mid-40's mpg...

Nope. 53mpg. :eek::p

198 miles on 17 litres, still had some fuel sloshing about in the bottom ;)

That's over 2500 miles (missed some tanks) racked up now, time's flying.

This happened. Had the bike for about two months now and it had 20K when I bought it

how did that happen? give it a whack:eek:

it usually resets itself if the battery is low, shouldnt alter the mileage though

Noticed my bike is starting to stutter at low revs, anything below 4k RPM really. Above that it's fine.

I'm thinking Fuel Pressure Regulator, anything else to check?
FPR from DC Spares is £135 :/ Loads cheaper on US sites, anywhere else in the UK to look?

Shimmy cleaned air filter checked plugs? Is it hard to start?

Just had my two punctures fixed,£20

Not checked either yet, but I did replace both for new OEM last summer. So I'd be surprised if they're at fault.
Starts on button, no problem. Idles fine, only on load for the first few thousand rpm where it stutters.

idk,id check or change plugs if they are oldish first, before spending £130 odd

looked on ebay for fuel pressure regulator? and dk spares in Newcastle under lyme, they do used spares

Bought and fit a new screen today as the buffeting from with my Triumph screen was too much over long distance for my poor shoulders.

It's by an American company called Madstad with the hardware coming from the states but the screen is licensed by MRA and made in Germany, and has done the job. At 70 I can barely feel any wind on my shoulders and when I moved my hand up in front of my body and head, I could feel no wind at all until my hand got to the top of my helmet.

Expensive at £233 but it is widely regarded to be the best screen for the bikes it's made for. Still, £233 :(

I tore my ignition switch apart last week to fix the stupid, stupid problem. Yup, one of the wires had melted it's solder connection. 5 minutes with the soldering iron and it's all working again.
I'm not going to ride it until I've fitted my switch bypass relay kit which - according to the mrs - has turned up today.

If I ever meet the person who designed the headlight wiring for the Rocket, I'm going to hurt them.

Bought and fitted the new TomTom rider to the bike. Thought it would be dead easy, as had the old one already wired in, so was hoping it would be just a bracket change, but they've changed the TomTom connector, so had to unwire it all, solder on the BMW aux connector and then install it all again.

Not ridden with it yet, but it feels much better to use. Faster, better touch screen, quite a lot bigger and rotates between portrait and landscape on the bracket. Only thing I'm not too keen on is the slight play in the bracket (presumably because of the rotating mechanism).

Also installed LED's in my auxiliary lights to match the colour of the HID's. They're actually not as bright as the previous Halogens, but still bright enough (only use them to been seen, not to see)

Elevation would be a nice addition, but only if you can tell it to go steep up and shallow down.

Otherwise it's pointless.
