Tempted by the Red Five. 10% off, free minifig (again), poster and I have £20 in VIP points...

Is there anywhere else that sells this and may have 20%+ off at any point?

I think Argos may have done a while back?

Or I might wait for the F40 instead. :)
 
TIE Fighter built. Enjoyable build for 3 hours and I like the end result, preferred it to yesterday's Red 5. Stand feels flimsy though.
 
Yet again a set far cheaper to buy than get the figures so got it before it is gone as it's no longer in production. £29 from tesco.

Got most of the marvel characters now, most on their own without the sets. I wish they would do a Marvel series of figures like the simpsons that would be brilliant.
 
G18241 I know you recently built your Deathstar did you get the toolset with it, Page 210 Figure 8. Where you put the tools on the rack. I got a drill but it's completely different to the one in the picture so doesn't fit and all the tools should have come like this...

The frames are the small square box farms from IKEA called RIBBA...a guy on facebook does really good quality background prints, along with a perspex sheet with etches in where you glue the bricks, they look awesome when done, and is the preferred method for most minifig collectors :)

I dont remember mine coming on a wheel like that, from what i can remember all the tools were in one of the first bags i opened, and then found it weird i didnt do anything with htm euntil right near the end...and my drill doesnt fit in the tool rack as there are already 4 things in it, so its just kinda sat on the floor next to it lol
 
Yeah mine was the same like that, except I don't have 4 tools. I have the wrench, hammer, oil can and then the slot for the drill according to instructions but the drill handle is different and doesn't fit. I'm going to request the wheel set from lego once I'm 100% finished and confident the rest is all there.

We are getting there, about an hour or so of build left in what will have been one of my least enjoyable builds since we started getting kits. Even my son has found it dull and tedious, I have struggled to maintain his interest in it. It's a nicely designed model but so damn dull to put together.

At times I have felt like doing this...

There is a post a page or 2 back with all the frames i currently have :)

Name is "Laser Frames" on FB, for the insert and the perspex its about £8 iirc, and the bricks you can pickup from pence each on bricklink :)

I'm a bit tempted to give this a go. I've look at bricklink is it? I can see what parts to compare and parts needed to complete. Is there anywhere in the UK I can source the parts? I haven't really looked into it too hard yet.
 
Finally got round to buidling a stand for my XWing. It's not Red Five or UCS but it was my first model so it's special and deserves a stand.

The original mashed together stand I built so it could have the wings expanded

It is literally the Red 5 stand with some slight modifications, since the standard XWing doesnt have a hole in the bottom to rest on the stand.
