****Official Project CARS thread****

Right, We've had a couple of days to find our feet with Project Cars. I'm putting out feelers to see who's interested in a multiplayer championship on the PS4. I was thinking about a Touring series with the BMW M3 GT. Just reply in here let me know if you're up for it, mic's not required but they have their benifits. Everything else I'll sort out once I know the numbers.

Really enjoying the game, works very well with the XB1 pad but a wheel would obviously be much better. AI is a bit dumb in places and there is plenty of little glitches and niggles but I am sure they can sort them out in time. Shame there is no Ferrari's but the cars included are pretty good and lots of tracks to put them round.

Spend most of my time just time trialling and it does feel closer to a PC sim than the usual suspects Forza and GT. Hopefully they keep updating it as there is a really good base to build from.

I'll put my name provisionally forward for a championship as by the comments on here I will like it but wont be able to play it until Thursday.

Edit: Though if using M3 GT3, why not open it up to all GT3 cars? Wouldn't be a 'touring' championship but would be nice to have a selection.

That fine, we'll find out what day people prefer. Opening it up to all GT3 is also fine, it'll add a nice mix, we can always change to a GT3 series.

I don't know what car you're driving Dair but seem to be getting some nasty understeer on some of those corners. Have you set the car up that way or is that the default set up?

Hi

Smoothness for best results imo and try to hit you apex/corners in the right gear if you using manual transmission.

Hmm.. desperately trying to be smooth, clean and avoiding contact, but the AI just does not play ball. Running the Escort Mk1 at Nurburgring I am constantly getting rammed, and flipped over when the cars bunch-up... restarted the race 7 or 8 times with the same result  I hope the devs work on the AI as they make it maddening at times.

I've yet to try a manual gearbox... I'm making it more realistic is small steps.

I've been flipped over loads of times. Mind you I've done the same to them. If I get pole it's fine but race 2 start from the back it's vary hard to work your way through the pack without getting hit. Still it's a nice challenge and very satisfying when you manage it.

I'm enjoying this game so far. Still on carts at the moment but have done a few online races. A couple of things I would like to moan about though is the rolling start. It's really ****, although that might just be a limitation of the small kart tracks. Another thing that would have been useful is a practice session on the kart races. It takes me 5-10 laps before I know the track and how the kart behaves around corners. With the karts as prone of slips and slides the first time you work it all out shouldn't really be lap one of the race:p

Really enjoying it though. I probably need to set the ai a bit higher but most of the time I end up spinning out on lap 8 of 10 and then hunting down the top guys in the last two laps lol

I've been flipped over loads of times.

There seems to be a specific issue with the Escort, where even a slight touch can send you over... watching the replays shows the physics are totally mad and unreal. This is a shame, as I love that car, but I just can't do one lap (just been around Monaco) without being tipped over... swapping to a Focus was fine.

Can you take a kart on any track? If so do you think there will be any tracks where you could, if you get all the lines right, just go completely flat out everywhere?

Not tried the escort yet but it happens a lot with the open wheelers.

Just watching a bit of your stream DAIR at Donnington. Nicely done. So much smoother with a wheel (I'm using pad). The 100% AI are tough! Won't be turning it up that high anytime soon :)

KeepIng up the concentration is no easy feat lol. I lost it a few times.

Loving the challenge though. The first corner is a right ****. I keep taking it in second just to be on the safe side.

Turn one is horrible. Also going down the hill to the old hairpin. It looks like you could lose it every time but you manage to keep it together. I'm all over the shop going down there lol

Anyone noticed on the PS4 something that looks like a camera flash going off in the centre of the track as you race around every now and then

Yeah I've spotted that.

Also I seem to be a lot faster in the 12c GT3. just recorded a time of 1:29.7 . more than a second faster than on the RUF...

Got this yesterday. Gameplay is immense.

But is it just me who can't move the camera in photo mode?

This is during a race...

E: Ok it works in free practice.

However the sliders take forever to adjust. PS4's don't come with a mouse
