Transexual using female changing rooms?

The Inuit have achieved nothing of note. They are hardly an example I wish to see our people aspire too.

At the risk of a bit of topic drift this is entirely wrong

The Inuit (Along with the Australian Abbos) have managed to survive and even thrive in unbelievably hostile environments by developing extremely sophisticated technologies and strategies for survival.

It is easy for us in our metallic culture to sneer at stone age cultures and regard them as somehow inferior and primitive but there is absolutely nothing "Primitive" about the Inuits traditional technology. (The Abbos traditional tech is pretty damn sophisticated too!)

In fact, in both cases, one is tempted to consider that both societies evolved from rather more sophisticated ones that had to adapt their tech to their environment as their environment changed, either by migrating into the Arctic (In the case of the Inuit) or (possibly) because a verdant environment shifted to a harsh dessert one (in the case of the Abbos) which might well have happend at the end of the last ice age (As it did in the Sahara)

Of course like many people, I am drawn to the romantic notion of a simpler and more primitive lifestyle. But the fact remains, the Inuit have an inferior civilization to our own by any logical measure.

You could argue that the ability to exist without significantly harming your environment is a worthy measure at which they would exceed our ability.

Back on topic: unisex changing rooms with cubicles are going to be the best compromise, but in my ideal world everyone would just stop and go "hang on, why the hell does it matter if someone sees my junk?" and stop making a big deal over what kind of junk it is that they are uncomfortable seeing.

You could make that argument, but it would be a fairly fallacious argument to make, because the Inuit do not exist in a vacuum.

I think in this day and age we get out of the Biblical two sexes and realise there are a lot.

Our knowledge of there being two sexes is not informed by the bible, its informed by empirical evidence.

if you believe in the existence of something called gender, then sure, you could argue there is more than two genders. But the is no evidence for that.

But maybe I just don't want to see your junk or anyone else's for that matter.
:p

I was banished from the female changing rooms in M&S.

Long story but my wife wanted ME to see the outfit not the whole ******* shop !

I told the woman she was degrading me and making me feel uncomfortable with her insinuations as she could clearly see I was married and my wife was there.

Shop policy she said **** **** was my reply.

outfit left in room and walk out.

i couldn't go for a swim the other night as it was ladies only night

Just wish the Royal and Ancient had said yes women can play on our golf course but only on Tuesdays.... as the rest of the week is mens night :o

oh and there are two female only gyms next to my work....

Did this woman know you refered to her as "your wife" :D.

"Never seen him before officer"

:D ah yes thing is I hate shopping to to be told off for entering the womans changing area by a woman wearing and outfit obviously bought before she piled on the pounds was quite annoying.

I was told to wait outside among the lingerie and my wife could come out and show me (and the rest of the shop her outfit  )

No answer as to why this was shop policy.....

It's annoying isn't it. I remember being asked to leave when my ex(wasn't ex then :p) was asking for my opinion.

All the rooms within the female changing area were floor to ceiling solid wood doors. There was no physical way for me to accidently see another woman but it was still reason to get asked to leave by security apparantly lol.

I always felt so awkward waiting by the lingerie for partners lol. Why is it always next to the changing rooms? I must look like such a perv standing there avoiding eye contact with any shopper :D.

TBF it's shop policy, so if you don't want to abide by the rules get out. Were these changing rooms accommodating for more than one woman at a time? If so then the policy is right to not allow any men in. Many women would be uncomfortable around you being there.

Most importantly though, are you transsexual also?

I know my wife's sizes so normally just try and find something she would enjoy wearing if I am stuck in the lingerie section, no awkwardness needed.

lol not yet but another couple of years reading these forums and who knows I might even get a man bag

Anyway, I am not against any provisions for the disabled people. Disabled bathrooms and ramp access etc is quite reasonable. The wholesale change of our gender norms to accommodate a trivial number of mentally ill people is not.

Yes, I suppose we are very accommodating of religious people in this country. Perhaps we could extend the same hand to transgender people, whose lives are more difficult than we can possible imagine.
