Why won't this cryptarch chap decode any more engrams? I am currently rank 3 2915/3000 but the 3000 is greyed out if that means anything.

If they are from the new chests, they are engrams for the HoW, so the cryptarch doesn't recognise them. They will be new weapons and armour. They mentioned lengendary engrams in the patch notes but it seems to extend to the rare ones too, I've got loads that the cryptarch doesn't recognise ready to decrypt on Tuesday.

Ah, it looks like I did find one of the treasure chests then. All I got was a piddling blue engram. I was expecting a lovely yellow one. I HATE THIS GAME!

I completed this after it came out and when i had kinda stopped play.

is it worth while starting a new char and running through it again? Have they done anything to make it better? lol

You'll be rewarded with a 331 version but you'll still have to buy all the upgrades to get it to 365. Will be easier though, as I think they are getting rid of all the upgrade attack/damage nodes on exotics and just having the one exotic shard upgrade at the end.

Yeah, that's how I expect it to work too. It will just be the perk nodes that remain, so you won't have to spend quite so many materials on each weapon.

So, who else has every slot on every character and vault completely stuffed with engrams?

Edit : not forgetting post box full.

Still no key though!

Well at least it solved my lack of armour materials :) 4 legendary engrams too.

Best place is Skywatch, if the chest spawns near the lower end of the zone you can pick it up 4-5 times if your sparrow skills are good :)

How the eff are new players supposed to compete in the Crucible? I had a quick peek at control as a level 10 player. The rest of the people were 31 with exotics. I got slaughtered. Where is the balancing?

And where is everyone else? This is supposed to be a living world with other players going about their business. Take the Queen's Wrath bounties for example. There are regularly 4 or so players hovering around Skywatch waiting for the Wolves. There is no one on Venus or the Moon and it was doing my nut in trying to get those bounties by myself. Why isn't there some kind of balancing for these events like Borderlands whereby the enemy health is dependent on how many people are in the team? If you want to play solo as I do, you're basically ******.

The more I play this game, the more I'm beginning to hate it. I should just quit now and write the £50 off.

Crucible is balanced, your level doesn't matter, the attack rating of your weapon doesn't matter, your defence doesn't matter. The only that does matter is your weapon/armour perks. You got slaughtered because you suck.

You'll find people around for the other bounties, just do some patrols until someone shows up, or find a fireteam. Skywatch is just overly popular at the moment because there's a glitch that lets you open the chest multiple times.

Destiny is at it's best when you organise a party and all get on voice comms. If you don't do that then you are going to be frustrated. Most OcUK people are happy to help out, or you can just get someone off destinylfg or similar.

I've played this game solo since day one and love it but there are activities you have to do as a team - raids, nightfall, Urzok part of TDB missions and now the Queens bounties. I've always used the bungie forums to find a fire team (not that often as I rarely raid)

Sounds like you've been unlucky tho as I've always found people hanging around to help with the Queens bosses.

The crucible is balanced. Player health and damage are evened out across levels. It will just be that there's lots of experienced crucible players out there, it's worth sticking with as events like the Iron Banner are immense

Also what level are you? Perhaps you're trying to do too much to soon? It took me months to be able to get high enough level to to the top activities.

Just an FYI, if you don't form your own fireteams, you are going to miss out on :

Vault of Glass
Crota's End
Weekly Nightfall Strike
Iron Banner (well you could do it, but it's not fun as a solo player)
Trials of Osiris
Prison of Elders (apart from the lowest level).

i.e. most of the end game content, and most of the ways to obtain decent gear. If you don't want to make the effort to get to know the guys from here (must be 20+ online at the moment with PoE about to drop), or even just find someone from LFG, then I do agree it's not worth your 50 quid.

Sounds like in your ideal world you should be able to go toe to toe with a seasoned player with all the best weapons in the game. If that was the case what would be the point in obtaining the weapons in the first place :p ?
That being said some of the blues you can get from crucible are pretty strong and the weapons you're currently using should still enable you to get kills. You're also at a handicap as you haven't got a lot of the nodes unlocked on your skill tree, so you will be missing out on extra skills and some additional armour/recovery etc.

If you're only lv10 you cant have been playing the game long at all so give it a proper chance. It's really not hard to get to ~lv30 now and its not like the better weapons in the game are really that difficult to acquire, this isn't some kind of hardcore grinding game.
