Witcher 3

Can I get some help with this?

I can get the XB1 version for £39 digital, or I can wait and get it for PS4.

I lean towards the PS4 generally for obvious reasons, but this one looks like it could go either way.

Unlocked framerate vs capped and better visuals.

Neither perfect.

I cant see how the decision is hard myself if youve got both consoles unless you had the CE or something.

ps3ud0

Might be getting this for ps4 but reading about fps drops spoiling game play. Is this particularly noticeable or just occasionally in certain areas or has it had a patch.

Basically.... PC crashes for a lot of people, so in about 2 months it will be best version.

XB1 is lower res, 900p dynamically increasing to 1080p but the framerate is uncapped and hovers between 25-41

PS4 is 1080p, capped at 30 but can drop lower in some parts. Probably overall smoothest of the console versions judging by Digital Foundry.

The "next gen" consoles are underpowered. I can't see this cycle lasting 10 years at all. No chance whatsoever.

I'm finding fighting hit or miss. Got my arse handed to me by a pack of five ghouls, yet, I nailed about four drowners. The well fight was pretty Easy too. Played about four hours so far and haven't left the first area yet :D Gwent is good fun too. I can see this being a very long game!

Re: frame rates.. I had to rescue someone, along with some horses from a burning building, and the frame rate inside the stable, with all the fire and smoke was abysmal, making it quite difficult to keep control and complete the challenge. I reckon it was in the low teens at time which felt awful.. I'm hoping I don't see this sort of thing again.

Yes, there is a lot of cut scenes following the main story, but I am enjoying watching events unwind. On the whole the writing and performances are good, but it can seem more like an interactive movie than a game at times. I'm sure I could leave the main trail and find some less cut scene heave stuff to do, but I'm enjoying it at the moment.

Caved, purchased via US PSN - 38 stinkers. Now the long wait! Not played either Witcher 1 or 2, hopefully that won't distract muchly from playing the game.

come back in two months and say that :D

Trying to kill jenny o the woods and I barely damage her. It then takes her about 4 hits to kill me. I'm over the level suggested and have done contracts that suggest a higher level. Anyone got any ideas whats going wrong.

I'm literally taking away about 1% of her health per hit. She is by far the toughest thing I have fought so far.

Think I'll rather post here about the Witcher as 50% of the guys at the PC thread are crying about graphics.

I think this game is incredible. It swallowed up the whole day. I have this week off under the guise of doing some decorating works in my new place and sat down at 7am and didn't look up until 4 hours later. Amazingly well done and looks and plays fantastic. Easily the GOTY for me so far.

Does the UI tell you what sword you should use with the mobs? I remember it was Steel for Human and Unhuman and Silver Ghouls? Is that right?

So much looting last night, I went over to the abandoned mill and had a lookaround there, found a few protected treasure sites, did a few quests, got some nice armour upgrades and about 8 different swords now. Also managed the devil in the well mission, was pretty easy, was expecting it to be harder, I love the little things you have to do before.

Loads of ingredients for alchemy as well which I never really touched in Witcher 2 due to time constraints, but I plan on doing a lot of home remedies in this game.

Packs of wolves are pretty overwhelming, nearly died a couple of times but retreated and then came back strong and wiped them out.

Such a fantastic game, yes there a hiccups with the frame rate, but overall it's fantastic.
