The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

Has anyone experienced reduced audio quality over bluetooth? I've found it to be absolutely terrible, severe compression and crackling. I thought I'd blown the amplifier in my car, but it's the bloody bluetooth!!

Anyway back on topic, how are owners finding the M9? Although I'm quite happy with my budget Lumia atm i'm quite tempted to have a go with one of these, after many different androids and even an ios phone I still in a way miss Sense. How is the camera on these? Also I know they have 32gb onboard but do HTC do something to allow you to move apps like certain samsungs do to the sdcard or is it like sony and left to the developers?

Any ideas on this guys? It's vital to me, so I'm on the verge of sending the phone back today and getting an iPhone 6.

I have only had mine for a few days, but found the Bluetooth audio surprisingly good! My Note Edge did not sound as rounded in the car.....Have you tried any other Bluetooth streaming output, e.g. speaker?

Weird, I'm wondering if it's my stereo. If it is, though, the phone has to go! There's so many things that I'm irritated by, so I think I'll organise to send it back. Not an Android fan, I'm afraid. It shouldn't be this much work to get things to happen correctly, and there's way too much incompatibility between different apps.

I'd send it back and stick to iPhone if I were you. If you put in a little time with it before you do - you'll find it does many more things than your iPhone and is a lot less limited however.

I have spent ages trying to set up how I like, but iOS has notifications absolutely nailed down, and Android does them terribly. Of course, you can get an app that replaces your lockscreen etc, but they're never 100% functional.

So how users finding the throttling with SN810? Anandtech seemed to think it was bad enough that SN805 is probably better in most cases.

Obviously Samsung and LG decided not to use it, even HTC decided against it for the HTC One M9+.

Is it really that bad?

My experience of it is that they're both quite different. Firstly, when I received a message on my iPhone, without any extra software the notification would either pop up on the screen or I'd get quick reply or something. I can get most of the way there with that using apps, but there will still be something, for example, whatsapp always brings up a popup.

The standard keyboard is no good for me, so I got a different one, swype I think. All the time, I'll reply to a message and the keyboard will stay open for a few seconds after I've left the app. I know it's anal, but I am, and that won't do.

I had to get a different messaging app because the standard one was horrifically slow.

Bluetooth not working properly is a huge problem for me. Whether it's just a fault or not, all these things combined make me just not like it. I can absolutely see why people love it, but it's not for me. I need something more polished.

I've found Notification way worse on iOS, apps are stupid and have no idea about their notification so if App Y send you a notification and you go into the app and deal with it, the notification is still their.

Also removing notification is a pain with that double press on a tiny icon, swiping away is much better. Finally I miss those small icons telling me what notifications I have waiting, its a nice way to know I have a miss call, whatsapp, hangout and what not waiting and I can address those once I'm ready.

Also that camera score hurts, worse then the S3 damn.

Starting to get a bit tired of my old HTC One X being slow when browsing the internet at times, and slowdowns/stutters when playing new game apps etc. Is it worth going for an M9, or had I best wait to see what HTC come out with at the end of the year?

You'll be waiting a year for the next ones, its only just come out. If you dont want the cost of the m9 and want a htc, I'd go M8.
