The K712 is warmer than the HD700. Soundstages are similar. The HD700 at £214..still wouldn't buy! I think the K712, HD650 and even the HD600 sound better. The HD700 is more suited for gaming but it's soundstage isn't amazing. The 650 is a bargain at that price!
Cancelled mine also. Didn't like how close they were to the x1's, 40mm driver regardless of technology is poor for the price and my 7xxx for gaming really does a nice job. If it was the flagship hd800 then I wouldn't have had any regrets in the morning about my purchase.
Don't know about the 650, but according to someone who own both the 600 and 700, he says the while the 700 is not as airy as the 600, but it have better bass presentation than the 600, and he would use the 700 over the 600 for gaming everytime. The 650's are tempting me now though as an upgrade to the X1's. Do any of the senns do bass well?
Alas you are not going to find HD800s for this price....or anywhere near for that matter.
But I've had my eye on the Beyer T1's for ages, shame they don't have an outlet.
You can return it to Sennheiser within 30 days for a full refund I believe? You just lose out on the cost of sending it back to them.should have probably just tested the 700's myself instead of reading too much about themWouldn't of lost much selling them on if I didn't like them.

I'd be interested in hearing the difference for Trance tracks, particularly the separation as the 700's are meant to really stand out there.
Agreed. These prices are great although I think this should be the brand new prices anyway, sennheiser overprice their stuff.
