sennheiser outlet silly prices

...and order cancelled, for my uses I really don't think they're worth it. I'd like to hear opinions on those who get them though :)

The K712 is warmer than the HD700. Soundstages are similar. The HD700 at £214..still wouldn't buy! I think the K712, HD650 and even the HD600 sound better. The HD700 is more suited for gaming but it's soundstage isn't amazing. The 650 is a bargain at that price!

I'll just keep my K712's then, More money in the bank for something else. :D

Cancelled mine also. Didn't like how close they were to the x1's, 40mm driver regardless of technology is poor for the price and my 7xxx for gaming really does a nice job. If it was the flagship hd800 then I wouldn't have had any regrets in the morning about my purchase.

Alas you are not going to find HD800s for this price....or anywhere near for that matter.

The 650's are tempting me now though as an upgrade to the X1's. Do any of the senns do bass well?
Don't know about the 650, but according to someone who own both the 600 and 700, he says the while the 700 is not as airy as the 600, but it have better bass presentation than the 600, and he would use the 700 over the 600 for gaming everytime.

should have probably just tested the 700's myself instead of reading too much about them :p Wouldn't of lost much selling them on if I didn't like them.

never say never.

But I've had my eye on the Beyer T1's for ages, shame they don't have an outlet with decent prices.

p.s I've not received a cancellation confirmation email yet. I filled a form on the digital river page.

You cannot trust anything but your own ears tbh.

I will give a review on them but I'm very skeptical of high end stuff.

I have owned X1's, he400 and hd595.

Currently own hd600, q701, dt770 and hd558.

If I don't like them or don't think they improve on hd 600's I'll sell and get x2's after that though I'm done. Couldn't say no at £214

I can help people here. I've ordered HD700 and already own Fidelio X2s. I'll be doing a massive shootout this weekend with FLAC and Spotify from the ZXR and Z1 Sony Phone. I listen to Hiphop and Electronic so I'll get something I know sounds great like Chemical Brothers and something that sounds delicate like the best of Eels and see how they compare and what kind of EQing I need to use.

I'd be interested in hearing the difference for Trance tracks, particularly the separation as the 700's are meant to really stand out there.

Bass on the 600/650 is detailed but fairly balanced if you like deep thudding bass they aren't the first choice - though running mine through an amp using OPA2228P + AD8066 and that really works magic with the bass on them :D

Sounds about right - 700s definitely have a clear airiness about them though - I've not sat down with both side by side to compare which is the more airy - 700s should be decent for gaming as they do a good job positionally. (EDIT: Quite a long time since I tested them though so I'd defer to anyone who actually owns a pair)

I prefer the 600s for trance myself - I like slow building stuff like Paul Oakenfold- Southern Sun - (Solar Stone Chillout Mix) though where the slow decay and "unhurriedness" of the 600/650 really works well.

I'd rather buy the HD 650 for £160 than £214 for HD700.

These prices are great although I think this should be the brand new prices anyway, sennheiser overprice their stuff.

The momentum can be had cheaper brand new price than they want refurb which is odd.
