Now is the best time to pick it up because the retail release + 1st expansion were pretty crappy. It's relatively easy to catch up. You can purchase / earn high level gear much quicker than ever before.
Now it feels more like a £40 game (except it cost double that).
If you like shooters / Halo / grinding, get it.
If you don't like any of the above, you won't like Destiny.
Cheers for the NF eden.....so annoying that wipe on Sepiks though! I was down in the cheese spot hammering away at him when a dreg decided to run in and one-shot me. When falleneden came to revive my my ghost was glitched inside some terrain and in the process of trying to revive me he died to another over-zealous dreg :'(

I wasn't going to get the chest armour from Variks but then I noticed it has the perk "Bonus armour and melee damage when fighting Hive in the Prison of Elders".....so snapped that up.

That should stack quite nicely with my RAM's extra armour perk.
Not sure on the complete strength roll though.. It certainly sounds interesting. (We can certainly try the Titan bubble method if we struggle)
I'm happy to run a couple more NF's before trying the 34 if you want to.
I'm really not sure what to upgrade next TBH. Do I take Moody and Bluey up to 34 or do I start ascending weapons (get lucky with boots next week and they will both me 34 on the PoE armour sets)? I think I will also scrap my duplicate Fatebringer & VoC's. This prevents me wasting Etheric light on stuff I don't need to spend it on and also frees up some room in the vault / on my chars. Duplicate exotics will stay as they are already ascended.
I still need to install the Chrome extension...

I might be able to squeeze in a NF before we start...so fingers crossed. I would like to blitz the last NF if it doesn't though, 34 is going to be much easier if I can get that last etheric I need.

Surprise surprise. I told my fireteam he would be selling the chest piece because that's what the trials guy was giving away.
So they screw over everyone who got the chest at the weekend.

To get 365 weapon drops and chances for Etheric Light / 42 light armour drops.
Personally, Crota and VoG raid legs are the first thing I used Etheric Light on, no way you're going to give up their heavy ammo perks for PvE content. Technically last week only one Etheric Light needed to be used to get to 34. Ascend Helmet / Variks Arms / ToO Chest / Etheric Light legs.
I decided to smash through the queens bounties to see if I got a key as a reward for completing them all. It turns out you don't, the rewards are same as last week which means getting keys is purely based on how lucky you are or how much time you are willing to waste farming for them.
I know they are desperate to have people grind to extend their time on Destiny, but at least attempt to make that grind somewhat interesting or make a guaranteed long-winded method of getting a key (the weekly heroic is pretty much ignored now, why not make a key a reward if you do one at say level 34 or something). Rather do something hard knowing Ill get the reward I need than spend a random amount of time doing the same exercise in the hope of a key...
Having a definite reward of a key per character per week is a great way to incentivise players to farm their own.

Tbh apart from the first week which was fun, I'd be happier if the 32+ PoE didn't require keys for the big chest and was just on a weekly reset.

Can someone just confirm what the chests offer per level as Im just tempted to ignore the large chest and just play the PoE as is. Would be a good way to to play enough Destiny while avoiding most of the grind/luck.
If I get a key I guess only the level 35 large chest is worth opening week in, week out...

Yep, I've got one key saved for the one time lvl 35 rewards (ship, shader, emblem), really only want the queens sniper but not really interested in grinding keys.
