If you go to the Ultimate Guitar news section, Tool have announced that the album is finished and will be released later this year.....

:eek::D

10,000 days grew and grew on me, initially didn't think it had topped Lateralus, but .....kind of bored of Lateralus now, it needs a remaster or something.

10,000 Days is better, more honest/personal, more subtle, and less new age horse-****.

10k days starts very well with Vicarious and Jambi both awesome songs, but then it loses steam imo with Wings for Marie which everyone cites as being the best part of the album.

For me it totally kills the flow they created with the first two songs.

For me the album has too much quietness/weirdness on it but Jambi is absolutely awesome.

GOD ******* DAMN, STOP BUMPING THIS THREAD!!!

I get all excited and then inevitably end up annoyed by the lack of New Tool :(

PS Sorry for the thread bump :D

Wings 1 and 2 definitely benefit from a good sound system with a sub. Lots of deep bass/rumbling, whispering, and "3D" phasing effects. Very cool when heard right.

Wings I & II also tie in conceptually extremely well with Jambi and Vicarious as they basically all discuss tragedy/death/MJK's mother.

I've found that most mainstream albums usually have some sort of break in the flow created after the first two belting songs, What's The Story Morning Glory and Performance and Cocktails are two that spring to mind immediately, so didn't find it a major flaw; although it certainly took a few listens to digest.
