On the way to work this morning, the mrs was going down a country lane at less then speed limit of 60, i was following on my bike. Now this lane is wide enough for 2 cars ans space either side. A young chap in his new company van, was in the middle and coming over the brow of the hill the o posit direction at the same time as my Mrs and he hit the mirror so hard that is snapped and also caused a dent and scuffing to the door on her 2 month old 2015 Yaris.

now if this was my car and it being brand new with less then 2k miles i would want the car replaced, as apposed to filler and painted because its not going to match. it will be close but not matching the rest of the car.

is this to much to expect ?
thoughts?
what would you do?

the guy admitted liability at the scene but we all know how that can go.

The only thing they'll replace is the mirror and fix the damage to the door. The paint won't have changed colour in two months.

Yes, that is too much to expect. I would expect the door and mirror replaced though. You'd be pretty hard pushed to be expecting a brand new car.

I would also expect the work to be done at a dealership, with full dealership warranty, and a not from the dealership that they carried out the work, should there be any paint / corrosion warranty work required down the line.

Seems a bit silly to expect a whole new car for a damaged mirror and a mark on the door. Surely you can argue they could just replace those two parts though.

What difference does it make if it's repaired to standard and has a Toyota warranty? It's absolutely ludicrous expecting a car to be replaced for damaging totaling around £1k. This is why you have insurance!

So you want a car replaced for a broken wing mirror and some scratches?!

Too much to expect...YES!

:D:D:D:D

shopping trolley type dents.
my consurn having working in a body shop is that, you will see the difference the standard is very orange peely. and a new car in my opinion shouldn't have filler in it. im not sure if they would replace a door or not :S

IF the car is that new surely theres a better chance of a paint match as it wont have been effected by the elephants.

report to insurance, give them the car, see what comes back then complain if needed.

New car tho? No chance lol

It's not a new car though, it's 2 months old.

always a wise guy.
and i was just saying if it was me i wouldn't want that car any more.
she doesn't seem to bothered she hates the car, im not surprised its a yaris and she didn't test drive it but thats another story.
