how to get that subaru sound ?

Pretty sure you're wrong.

If a car has a cat as standard, it's part of a MOT check to make sure it's there. Well post 1992 IIRC.

Hence me saying as long as the car has a valid MOT.
most cats/decats are 20 min swapout jobbies.
Some even look like a cat with a straight thru pipe inside ;)

Same goes with those godawful dpfs, theres a lot of people get them knocked thru and mapped out

Does anyone know of any good places in the uk that sells custom headers?

Search for Manifold, as the word headers is the Yank word for manifold, there are places that will do them, mainly back street places as the main exhaust places neither have the skill or experience to do the job. I had a custom manifold made for my Capri years ago and it didn't cost the Earth.

Nice cars the sports, almost got one myself.
What colour did you get?

It's not 100% gonna fail, depends on the emissions...
Well that or if you've got a friendly MOT tester lol

From what I gather the 6MPS with the 2nd cat removed tends to pass anyway, not sure if the sports have 2 cats also tho.

Also it depends if you have a friendly MOTer or not. ;)

I've got a H&S exhaust on mine, similar to that. Mine sounds a little different as it has tubular headers, which are unequal, but not as much as the default ones.

Replacements:

And it's a 2.0, not a 2.5 . OK, that comparison probably got stretched too far...

Ill leave this here, its my dads old 440 before i took it to a show. unbeatable sound imo :P

MMMmmmmmmmmm!

Of course a Diesel (And particularly a rock solid one like the Yotas) will never have the crackle of an idling 440 (At least I hope not! )

I would however love to have a discrete V8 rumble :D

(One that isn't antisocial but does make people turn and look to see where it was coming from! ;) )
