Walthamstow crowd save cyclist by lifting double-decker Bus

Cool Story - but you might as well watch a Cat video for the lack of detail it shows. :P

Cyclists deserve as much respect on the roads as any- wait... a UNICYCLIST?!

And they moved the bus WHY?

What on earth is a unicyclist doing in the middle of the road (and a very busy one at that) ?

Hope they are ok, and that was a very special act by everyone involved.

The 4 times I've been knocked off, the cars were all trying to over take me, with cars coming the other way. Not one stopped.

But surely having a license plate (like all cyclists should!) helps catch these criminals!!!

/sarcasm just incase you think I'm serious

4 times?? I cycled about 4k miles in London in my time and was only hit once, and I cycled pretty "enthusiastically". You must be unlucky and/or doing a lot of miles.

I commuted by road bike once to Canary Wharf from Marylebone and a silly cow almost side swiped me in her car on the way home that night. Never again. I'll stick to the country roads of Buckinghamshire. London is a dangerous place to cycle in IMHO.

Depends how you ride though, if you ride thinking "I'm here so the car can't come and push me out of the way", you'll probably get knocked off/bumped into/squeezed onto the pavement/railings.

I've always given in or stopped (even if it's my right of way or I'm not in the wrong) as that's the only way to cycle safely round here.

However I've cycled quite a few times exactly through that spot where the incident took place and it wasn't too bad. They have changed the junction around there so maybe that might have made it worse.

Short sighted and usually busy rolling down the road to get a number plate.

I'm fully aware cycling between 4pm and 6pm makes me the most hated person on the road, getting knocked off hurts, I don't want to annoy car drivers, drive one myself, some people haven't got a care in the World about hitting a cyclist .... unless the Police catch them.

Camera on your helmet, old chap. :)

Yea, that'll save you. Make sure you ride particularly aggressively once you've got it to invite confrontation which you can then upload to Youtube.

Remember, enforcing your right of way on video is much better than being safe.
