The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

Is the display and battery life still better than the HTC One X though?

As kona says. even an m7 would be better. M8 is the sweet spot for coming from an older design and not being bothered about getting the newest phone. They are half the price of a m9 for better battery and display.

Shops should still have both designs on display, might be worth popping into the shop and having a fondle.

Ah sod it, I went for the plunge and got a gunmetal M9. Bought it outright. Wasn't too bothered about the display and battery as they'll probably still be better than my One X anyway, and the increased sound quality of the M9 swung me over the M8, I do like my music.

Well, two days in and I'm loving it. The tallness of it compared to my One X is taking a bit of getting used to, but all seems well!

You're lucky they moved the Power Button to the side...was a pain on the M8 being all the way at the top :p

I'm now 2 weeks into the no cover experiment and it's holding up well so far...I can see an ever so faint scuff/scratch in certain lights but their new surface which they claimed was harder to mark certainly seems to be working.

As for the update above...I do look forward to the battery life improving...as I do get through a day but if it's an intensive day I need the charger around 10pm when it's been disconnected from 6am.

I find it a really nice placement of power/lock button to be fair. Can't understand the people who complain about getting it mixed up with the volume down button; it has a unique surface texture and I can instantly feel which button I'm touching.

I've never used a case on my phones, and this M9 will be no different!

Mine is woeful - not sure why. I really hope they sort it out soon or it'll be going on the bay.

Woeful seems a bit of a strong word :p 9 times out of 10 mines will last the whole day. There is that one occasion where it won't due to an intensive usage.

I have to say I do want to see what improvements the update will bring but HTC have been very quiet on that front so far.

Well, basically I struggle to get over three hours of SOT over 14 hours, which is a walk in the park for my OnePlus. Obviously I'm aware that the OnePlus has a slightly bigger battery, but even my M8 did much better. Hell, even my N5 would get at least 3.5h SOT. It may be worth a factory reset....

The update has come out in Taiwan and the like I believe, but no news of it here :(

Quick first impressions...

So the phone seems to be a hell of a lot snappier...surprisingly you can tell.

The Camera definitely improves the picture quality, a lot snappier and vibrant by default and seems to focus and take pics a lot quicker than before.

Battery life will just be one of those things we'll see how it goes over the next few days.

Glad this update came in as like yourself reflux I was starting to get cold feet about keeping it around.

*EDIT* Also from a bit more use now the phone doesn't really heat up as much now despite the snappier performance.

Yeah, the whole phone appears improved. Better performance, less heat.

Battery life is my main concern. I don't see any improvement yet. But I'll give it a few days to bed in.
