The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

Yeah. It's like HTC have all the bad luck. I would love to see them turn a fat profit and take the fight to Samsung, especially on the marketing front.

They were number 1 in the OG desire days, then it all went a bit Pete Tong.

Agree with the others ^^ on the perceived extra snappiness, but also cannot yet comment on battery. I was actually quite pleased with the battery life - had issues with my Note Edge, which is why I swapped to the M9.

I agree about the phone being snappier. I've not had chance to try the cameras as yet but nice to hear positive things. One thing I've noticed is my battery has taken a hit today, I've not used it much more than normal and I've come home to it being below 25% it's normally over 50% I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see how it goes, it might just be a bad day.

My HTC M9 was delivered this morning, woo.

Where are you guys getting the update from? I've tried the software update tool but apparently there are no updates available to me?

Edit: For info I'm on software version 1.32.61.1.15

Is your phone sim free or operator branded, operators sometimes take longer to test and roll out.

I think 1.4 is only for unbranded right now. Network updates will follow... eventually.

Battery life was alright yesterday although it got very hot on the tube. Then Google Play Services soaked over 20% in the evening. Annoying.

Mines is lasting a little longer...nowhere near the claims that were online before it.

I'm more satisfied over the speed and responsiveness now...it can still get warm, nowhere near as much and the camera is just night and day now from the way it was! If I didn't have android wear/bluetooth always on I suspect my battery would last longer.

I'm a lot happier with it overall than I was this time last week that's for sure.

I am pretty sure that the battery life is better now, although was not struggling before this update. That said, left my Moto 360 charger at work over the weekend, so the watch has been off and hence the phone not using as much, perhaps?
Either way, was happy with battery before and after, and the phone feels super responsive :)

After a few more days use then it definitely retains it's snappy performance the camera is definitely better but I'm starting to have major reservations over the battery performance.

I definitely think it's linked to the Bluetooth setting being constantly on with my device due to my Moto 360 so not ideal. It's really making me reconsider my position, if only the battery life could improve just a smidge more I'd be delighted.

My battery isn't great either. I got about 1.5h SOT before I was down to 50% this morning, and that's after 4h total uptime. Checked the graphs and the phone was being kept awake all the time.. no idea why. I feel like HTC still has some work to do in the battery department.

Other than that, the phone is much better than before in terms of speed and responsiveness.

Brilliant, so it seems the latest update has broken rapid charging, and possibly regular speed charging. I plugged my phone in earlier and it charged 10% in 1.5h on a 2A charger.

This is ridiculous... come on HTC!!!!

I have noticed a few Bluetooth gremlins with my M9 - seem to get random disconnects from my Moto 360, and can be quite hard to get the 2 devices to see each other again. To begin with, I though this might have been related to the 360, even though I never had problems when it was paired with my previous phone (Note Edge), but have now noticed that when the watch connection goes down my car (CLS) cannot see the phone either.....anyone had any similar Bluetooth related weirdness?

Yeah I had that the full time I used the phone with my Moto 360 mate. I've picked up a S6 Edge and I have no issues at all with the Bluetooth connectivity and it doesn't appear to adversely effect battery either.

Early days, but seemingly - since the recent Moto 360 update - all has been well. That said, I am pretty convinced that the problem was the One, but......

5.1 is rumoured to be due this week. For those of you who have had the problem with charging happening very slowly, apparently this is due to fix that too.

I'm actually quite enjoying the phone now. The battery life isnt great and it gets fairly warm but it is so smooth to use. And very very fast. Shame they couldnt have released it with more mature software.

I hope 5.1 is due this week. I keep getting an annoying internet connection available message, it's a pain as there's no need for the message as I know my data is on permanently.
