*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I dont understand how broken the Final Round perk was for Sniper rifles in PvP when theyve already reduced the amount of special ammo. It just seems to be an unneeded change.

Was Destiny PvP just full of snipers and camping?

ps3ud0

its only really prevalent in the hyper competitive trials of osiris. It's a 3v3 mode where your special ammo goes much further as theres less people to shoot at, and crucially the games are much slower paced and less team mates to steal ammo and pick it up when not needed.

If you play normal crucible only using 1 in 3 of your bullets you won't get many kills since you'll quickly run out of ammo.

That's not just The Last Word though, the game in general has fairly generous auto aim. With the way it can spray though, TLW is definitely set up to take advantage of it. Suros used to be the same before the nerf.

surely you've noticed that last word has a very peculiar form of auto aim ? take a look at the crosshair

http://www.product-reviews.net/wp-content/uploads/Destiny-The-last-word-hand-cannon.jpg

As long as you have that centre circle over your opponent, the game will auto aim for you when hip firing and make the bullet hit. Try the same thing with a sniper and you would need to draw a red dot in the centre of the screen and make sure that dot falls over your opponent.

Its ridiculously easy to fire off quick hip fire shots with last word and doesn't need anything like the normal amount of skill in aiming to use when compared with other guns in the game. all that in game auto aim you talk about ? you get all that and the exotic perk i've described above. Its incredibly easy to use

No, that' not what I said. I was pointing out that correlation between social media feedback and changes implemented is not completely, or even likely mostly causal.

Just because Reddit isn't awash with people moaning about final round spear's (seems to be plenty mind), doesn't mean that it won't change. If the metrics are telling them that ES FR is giving an unfair advantage, particularly in trials, they'll change it.

Especially as the redditors are likely to be more serious players, WITH ephidreet's spear, their feedback is skewed, and the game metrics are even more important.

the issue with final round is largely specific to trials. Their data already told them it was overpowered, thats why they removed it from new snipers. I'd be willing to wager that something like 50 % of sniper kills in TOO come from a sniper with final round.

Well done, but what is your overall Trials K/D?

that won't prove or disprove anything.

i have only played 1 game with decent players.

all other games have been with guys i'm carrying. i'm talking going a full game and one of them has only 1-2 kills where i have around 15.

so yeah i have been getting smashed and that it's impossible to carry people in trials you all need to be good at pvp or 2 really good players could probably carry 1 weak player but 1 decent player cannot carry 2 people.

so my stats will be horrible. going forward though they will be a lot better as i switch to playing with better players.

like i stated above the stats don't mean anything.

i played with a new group of people last weekend and on my first try i got 9-0 plus a 5+ k/d ratio.

the most important thing is the other players your playing with they will skew the stats wildly.

1 decent player with 2 weak players = 0 wins and crap stats
1 decent player with 2 pro players = 9 wins off the bat with decent stats

if i could wipe my slate and only play with these guys they would be a lot different, but like i said i don't care about stats. i will play with these guys as well as my normal group to try and help them get the gear as well.

it's quite clear you play for stats now as i would never ask anyone what their stats are. why? because how do you know they are the only one who uses that account? i could have friends, siblings, etc all playing on that account as i don't care about the stats.

Interesting discussions on Reddit this morning about PoE fights:

1) The bug when fighting Skolas when you have the devouring essence debuff where you can't reload when you're in the immunity phase (because reload & take 'chalice' are the same button).

2) PoE Mines are reskinned oracles so they're saying VoG weapons do extra damage to them? Will test tonight but thought that was pretty interest. Makes destroy mines much easier when using praedyth's + VoC/Fatebringer.

the only guns i use in POE are FB, VOC as primarys unless it's void burn.

praedyths is my go to sniper but can use black hammer/IB depending on if i'm on boss duty or not. FB is crap for oracles though your better off with epilogue it's that bad.

I play normally and have a decent team for 3v3, if that means I "play for stats" then so be it. Also, I asked you about stats because you're throwing around your latest 5+ K/D ratio. Seeing as I love stats, I'll point out that you went 5-1 in one game. Across that set of 8 games you went 29/25, which is a 1.16 K/D ratio ;)

Hahah, someone questions you and out come all the excuses. You never change Sonny :D

So now I've got my 3 chars to 34, it's time to get geared up for trials

Any tips on beastly vendor/faction weapons and roll combinations? I've got a Low Grade Humility sniper which I'm going to roll for Hidden Hand and Unflinching. A Party Crasher +1 sat in the vault too, not reforged yet.

Mainly keen on a good legendary primary so I can give Queenbreaker's bow a go. I've heard an ascended Timepiece is pretty decent?

Got a 20/20 AMR7 in the vault, and a Shadow of Veils. Not sure how much use they are. Happy to stick with Jolder's Hammer for heavy.

I think the top 2 shotguns are felwinters and matador. I dunno how party crasher stacks up against those so it may not be worth re-forging if you have 1 of them.

The messenger (7 wins) is probably the best legendary primary you can get. Failing that there is three little words and some other pulse rifle which is supposed to be great.

reddit probably has a thread somewhere discussing every pvp weapon.

Your best bet though is thorn because it's so OP.

For trials:
  • Hidden Hand and Unflinching is good, however LGH is one tier below the "revive snipe" impact tier. I personally like Shadow of Veils, its a nice sniper with Shortgaze and it hits hard.
  • Party Crasher +1, yes, but make sure you roll for shot package and a range improving perk as a priority.
  • Personally, I would not run Queenbreakers, especially if you're not used to it. Exotic hand cannons are going to be your best bet, maybe a pulse rifle depending on the map and if you can land your bursts.
  • Last tip, running a MG for heavy is a not recommended. Good teams will all run proximity rockets and you'll instantly get shut down/pre-fired etc. Dead Orbit sell one that can roll well, or just switch to Truth on the heavy round.

Hope that helps buddy.

I guess in trials a RL makes sense....I've got a ton of them knocking around the vault....let me see...

Got the dead orbit one in arc but I've rolled it with tripod and tracking and I want to keep it for PvE. Hmm got an Admonisher I can reroll...I guess tripod + prox is the ideal roll?

Think I'm going to pick up a few crucible marks and grab a Red Hand IX to fill the legendary primary slot.
