Corrosion with Nickel and Copper/Brass

Hi, I'm just looking for clarification that my water cooling parts are safe to use. I understand that you shouldn't use aluminium with copper as it is too reactive but Nickel, Brass & Copper are close on the reactivity series so they should be safe to use together but I'm not sure so any help is greatly appreciated.

You should be using corrosion inhibitor in your loop regardless to stop corrosion even between nickel and copper. Most pre-mixes come with it already in there, if you're making your own you should be adding it as an additive.

Mayhem's Pure H20, does that have a corrosion inhibitor?

You'll need to add an additive to it. I use Mayhems XT-1

It's glycol based - I think I read somewhere that there can be issues with glycol and rigid tube, could be wrong about that though.

Yeh, this thread highlights the issue but it is a bit vague as despite XT-1 containing glycol but X1 doesn't

XT1 glycol
Pastel None glycol
Aurora None glycol
Pastel Extreme - contains trace amounts of glycol

after further extensive testing

XSPC is glycol based
CF (poisonous) glycol based
Primochill glycol based

Thanks for summing it up clearly. I'll be using Mayhems X1 then

Also just checking, although Mayhems has an anti-corrosive does it contain a biocide?
