*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

i don't care about the dance moves (well I do but not enough for another £50-£80).

What are they talking about with the exclusive exotic with XP boost?

So legendary edition gets an exclusive exotic which also boosts their XP? That could be worth the money as I hate doing bounties plus the exotic might be a game changer (RIP Gjallahorn).

What I heard was it speeds up progress to level 20 only. Could be wrong though.

I have doubts about how good the items well be, since they need to keep the game balanced and soo on, moreover if it affects crucible, could be wrong. I think I would personally just get it day 1, I get a good amount of value destiny thus far and as long as I'm still playing it seems worth it, it does suck paying again and again but hopefully the content is good. Dark below was a bit meh, the latest DLC was good and I think worth the £15~ or so I paid, so I would want a lot form TTK.

That just confirms to me the feelings I had around Christmas when I stopped playing, that Destiny literally is CoD 2.0:

-Yearly releases with next to nothing new/more of the same
-2-3 pricey DLC's following the release for that year giving you little content considering what you pay for them (in comparison to the full game price)
-Half the year is spent trying to fix issues that shouldn't have been in the game at launch in the first place (might even still be the case, I haven't kept up with it since February).

I just feel so much regret for what the game could have actually been, but unfortunately what I was expecting and what I got were two completely different things. An example being the free roaming on the planets, I was hoping you could run into random fire teams while exploring with your own group and some kind of PVP mode/match could come into play similar to how a public event shows up. But instead you pointlessly run into people in the 'world' that you can't even interact with let alone communicate with without inviting them to your fire team, which is also limited in the number of people you can play with (3 person fire team when roaming if I remember?). I feel that Bungie missed a huge opportunity with the free roaming co-op side of the game, even just including things like sparrow races as some cheap mario kart/wipeout knock off would have been entertaining against friends or even with matchmaking on the tower, it would have given the tower some purpose atleast :p.

I give it to Bungie/Activision they marketed the **** out of this game, they had me fooled even though I did have my doubts with Activisions history, but my trust in Bungie to make a good game gave me the final push to take the chance. Don't get me wrong the combat, raids and PVP were somewhat fun but the game was just seriously lacking any content that wasn't extremely repetitive.

Yeh I get us. I really enjoyed the demo I played but the game does feel a bit empty and like you can't interact enough. I'm thinking about waiting for Destiny 2

That interview has cost them my money tbh. I am already cutting back on my Destiny time a lot, and that blatant disregard being shown for their current users is enough for me to say screw them. I've still got plenty of games I've missed that need playing, I'll play them in September instead.

Funny thing is Luke Smith used to be Bungies PR guy a few years back, but now he's their Raid team lead designer (god knows how that works) so he really should have known better then to come out with answers like this and you think they would have learned by now how not to handle PR after the last few screw ups in that department over the past 12 months.

As much as Luke Smith is a grade 1 *******, I'm still buying it. I'll just let him know on Twitter :)

He's basically come out and said "Yep, the Legendary Edition is primarily aimed at monetising hardcore existing fans". Now I'm quite pragmatic when it comes to these things, it's pretty obvious that is the case anyway and I'm fine with it, but to have a developer come and trot this out in an interview is insane. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up sacked tbh.

It's an exotic class item. Unless you are going to throw it at the enemy I can't see it replacing G'horn any time soon.

Weird instance when I managed to get a few minutes in last night on Moody. Running patrol on Venus to complete my Vex majors bounty and the wolves drop in on the Ishtar cliffs. I start to move away (swiftly) but noticed the scorch captains were only level 14. Quite a few shots later and I am wielding a scorch captain ready for the next ship. Down come the enemies and "Immune.. Immune.... Immune.." followed by death. Very weird scenario with the first wave being my level whilst the remaining waves were level 30.

One more level to go and I can scrap this crap primary for my Stranger's rifle (99 - 215 attack).

having a pap time in work but omg that Interview put a smile on my face :)

Also I have the Digital version. If I bought the hard copy of the legendary edition does that mean I have to start putting the Disk in?

Just read the interview, OMG, what a teabag.

I did enjoy Destiny and I still pop on there occasionally for a few PvP session but with so "many" games I am sinking time on, this game no longer have a hold on me and I'm glad I'll be saving the £40 and throw it all at a pipboy whilst I play the other time sinker in November.

That makes me Emote more.

Shard all your other MGs and start playing crucible for a BTRD-345. It's absolutely ridiculous, even with base stats.

Rate of Fire = 66 vs 59 (JH) vs 88 (CM)
Impact = 53 vs 61 vs 27
Range = 32 vs 28 vs 18
Stability = *80* vs 20 vs 50
Reloead = 22 vs 30 vs 39
Mag size = *46* vs 26 vs 58

Gone for counterbalance and casket mag on mine for now. Even without perks unlocked it's miles better than JH or CM.

From PS3 experiences, yes. Sony treats digital and disc versions as separate SKUs whereas Microsoft don't (but only when you play disc first and then buy digital - this is the other way round).

You can have an exotic weapon and an exotic piece of armour equipped

He [DeeJ] added a bit more

"Year One players won't get the same perks as people who buy a collector's edition," he told Forbes. "They'll get something better. Tune into the Weekly Update for more."
