*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I asked this a long time ago and never got a reply so will ask again, as I'm not playing it any more. Is there anyone who wants to "lead" the OcUK Destiny clan, or effectively be promoted as an administrator for it :p
Or is there anyone that you feel should or could be in such a position.
I'm happy to. I'm not planning on leaving this game any time soon. :)

Does the game stop awarding treasure keys and royal amethyst when you have max amounts in your inventory (5 and 1 respectively)?

well me dredd and dragon just had 3 exotics drop on 1 nightfall

gjallahorn, patience and time and thunderlord.

i also had an exotic helmet drop for my warlock and exotic gloves for my hunter.

so 3 exotics out of 3 for me this week.
guess that a no then :p
Ran two so far and seen nout but leg and coins drop for peeps. I did get a e.light tho

Some lucky bugger got Gjallahorn out of Queenie's chest and we were only doing level 28.
is there a better chance of an exotic on higher Poe's?

Also is it one off weekly chance or is there always a chance as long as you have the large treasure key?

Think I got the icebreaker from the 28 chest last week

 Only just read the EG interview.

Nothing but greed. Not a cat in hells chance im buying this dlc, that guys attitude absolutely stinks. V poor Bungie.

no idea tbh nobody will know if you have a better chance on higher POE's.

it's a 1 off weekly chance i think but i wouldn't quote me on it.

tbh though even if you have 1 character you have a chance of getting an exotic from

VOG x 2 (gorgon and atheon)
Crota x 2 (witch and crota)
Nightfall
POE
Trials (lighthouse)
PvP (normal crucible) - this is extremely rare but it does happen i've seen one drop 2 games in a row for randomers

that's 6 decent chances per character per week plus an additional 2 which are much harder.

so 18 easy chances per week across 3 characters (this is where most go wrong they only have 1 character).

once taken king comes that will go up again with the new raid, etc.

Tbh the collectors edition issue doesn't bother me, it's been gaming standard for years now - fleecing the most loyal, enthusiastic customers. This is nothing new.

What does bother me is if they don't let us ascend (or whatever they choose to call it in TTK) our hard earned weapons and armour. They haven't mentioned that we can so far, and have even implied we can't.

upgrade from 365 to 400?

I imagine they would let you do that otherwise it would make all current weapons pretty much redundant.

What I don't like is how many currencies we currently have the so little vault space. Where do they expect me to keep all this ****?

Passage coins, strange coins, etheric lights, motes of light, asc energy, rad energy, asc shards, rad shards, exotic shards, weapon cores, armour cores, etc.

They need to ditch the PS3/360. Tell the community they have taken it as far as they can on old gen and if people want bigger vaults, etc they need to buy next gen.

I don't see how they can entice people to buy the game plus dlc they already own but they cannot entice people to ditch the older systems.

They need to seriously double the current vault space for weapons and currencies. I've just ended up sharding stuff otherwise I know i'm going to end up hoarding it all.

I've still got a 365 shotgun and 2 x 365 heavy weapons i need to shard (RL and MG) as they are crap. I may roll the MG though but I doubt it will come close to the BTRD-45 or whatever it's called.

A lot of these new weapons are crap. I'm still rocking FB and VOC mainly in PvE. Shotguns and snipers in special and Gjally heavy.

PvP is thornfest atm.

The six wins silver tier package from brother vance can also have exotics for you, I got a Plan C last week and one of my american friends I think got a Suros Regime.

Strike playlists also drop them quite frequently, and so does the small chests in prison of elders I believe! And you can the level 28 as many times as you want!

A lot of chances for exotic gear now!

That just confirms to me the feelings I had around Christmas when I stopped playing, that Destiny literally is CoD 2.0:

-Yearly releases with next to nothing new/more of the same
-2-3 pricey DLC's following the release for that year giving you little content considering what you pay for them (in comparison to the full game price)
-Half the year is spent trying to fix issues that shouldn't have been in the game at launch in the first place (might even still be the case, I haven't kept up with it since February).

I just feel so much regret for what the game could have actually been, but unfortunately what I was expecting and what I got were two completely different things. An example being the free roaming on the planets, I was hoping you could run into random fire teams while exploring with your own group and some kind of PVP mode/match could come into play similar to how a public event shows up. But instead you pointlessly run into people in the 'world' that you can't even interact with let alone communicate with without inviting them to your fire team, which is also limited in the number of people you can play with (3 person fire team when roaming if I remember?). I feel that Bungie missed a huge opportunity with the free roaming co-op side of the game, even just including things like sparrow races as some cheap mario kart/wipeout knock off would have been entertaining against friends or even with matchmaking on the tower, it would have given the tower some purpose atleast :p.

I give it to Bungie/Activision they marketed the **** out of this game, they had me fooled even though I did have my doubts with Activisions history, but my trust in Bungie to make a good game gave me the final push to take the chance. Don't get me wrong the combat, raids and PVP were somewhat fun but the game was just seriously lacking any content that wasn't extremely repetitive.

I have to disagree with you there.

I've played MMO / RPG type games where once you leave the confines of the "safe" zone in the city, its essentially a free for all where you can PVP or PVE in the same zone.

Not a fan at all and much prefer to have PVP in a separate crucible arena and be able to play PVE on free roam where nobody can grief me. I've also played games where they have open mics and I'm not a fan of this either. You just end up getting people chewing their mikes, blaring music, shouting at their kids / pets etc.. and theres either nothing you can do about it, or you have to set about muting everybody making nose one by one.

The free roam system on patrol mode works just fine for me. Everybody is free to play how they want and nobody can touch anybody else. Quite often you'll find these players start to work together like in the public events.

Destiny is hugely popular, and I'd rather they not change fundamental things about the game I like (such as this) to go try and chasing more players, because they will just upset the existing players that have put so much effort into their characters.

Tbh the collectors edition issue doesn't bother me, it's been gaming standard for years now - fleecing the most loyal, enthusiastic customers. This is nothing new.

They've said they have lots to talk about on this, but don't want to talk about it yet. They point out that they heard us the first time on this and how unpopular the system was in crotas end and how popular the new system was in house of wolves.

The real issue is will you get to keep your gjallarhorn into destiny 2 next year ? I doubt destiny 2 is going to have full crossover. They've said a game where you use the same weapon for 10 years would be no fun. So I expect us to lose gear in destiny 2.

Has nightfall a been nerfed for exotics?

Nope. This week I got Suros Regime, Dragons Breath and Ice Breaker.
