It may have been a Muslim who committed this act, but that doesn't mean they committed it BECAUSE they are a Muslim.

I love the sheer arrogance of some people, you are happy to cut off ties from a group of people because they have a few nasty things, yet it is perfectly ok for your people to do continuously do lots of nasty things to them.

I'm going to put this quite bluntly, but the things we have been seeing happening over the last decade or so is just a case of chickens coming home to roost. You reap what you sow and that is what is happening, the mess in the Muslim world didn't happen on its own, buts its a result of 2-300 years of ****ery by the West.

* cue the "oh its always the wests fault isnt it" comments, yes because aliens from mars came and did all of the colonisation.

Nope, same as I don't feel hate towards muslims because of the ISIS stories each day in the press. Scum is scum, the are just choosing the muslim religion as their justification mechanism and their interpretations make it seem a good fit.

If I were a muslim I would seek to shout about that and tell them how they are not part of me or my religion, belief system or moral compass and I would probably seek others who thought the same to make a stand too. See above...

That depends on his motives, it is likely he did as an act of retribution because his fellow muslims have been suffering, so it would be because his a muslim.

That still doesn't mean he committed it because he is a Muslim. It would be a factor in his decision making process, but it isn't a definite cause of his act of violence. Like I said before, the person may be mentally ill or otherwise unstable and their personal circumstances are likely to have a large part to play in it.

Much like the guy who was found guilty of decapitating his elderly neighbour because he believed she was Hitler, we can't say he committed that act because of one aspect of his being can we?

This is extremely short sighted of you. Our invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq came as a consequence of Islamic terrorism and aggression. And if you start to cry 'Imperialism', you ought to keep in mind that it was Islam who originally expanded into the European sphere. They are the original imperialists.

I think it's quite naïve to label the acts of Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden as just Islamic terrorism. They are far more complicated than that and have almost nothing to do with the religion of Islam.

Why do they need to shout about their innocence when they have committed no crimes ?

Saddam was neither a terrorist nor an Islamist, he was a national leader and reasonably secular. You'll find no disagreement on that point from me, because I never said otherwise in the first place.

But Bin Laden was absolutely an Islamic terrorist. And not the first to attack the West, I should add.
