First of all, I wouldn't consider all of those Christian attacks. Secondly, they pail in comparison both in terms of frequency and death count to the atrocities committed in the name of Islam in just the past few years alone. Thirdly, if you're asking me as a Christian (not a practicing one though) do I support them in any way shape or form, of course I do.

Does any of that change that there's a problem with radical Islam?

You do yourself no favours with such "I know you don't" throw aways and calling everyone who doesn't agree with you an idiot. Suggesting they go an listen to an Imam again supports my point about the problems we see today within the muslim community. To paraphrase....

"We know the real story, come and listed to our religious leaders and they will educate you". If you can't see why that angers those around you then AGAIN we see the problem you face.

Well, funny you say that, i've tried to find the video but it was of an ex muslim speaking about the faith after he's left it. He said the reason you don't see a lot of muslims speaking out about these attacks is because they secretly either condone it or do not care (At least in his immediate circle of people).

I've been searching high and low for the video, I clearly remember it and it makes total sense. It was on you tube but it was few months back.

The more i've delved into Islam now and again the more I'm realising people need to drop the political correctness and stop defending it, it is not a religion of peace for example, absolutely not.

Islam is not a religion of peace, that is misleading and outright wrong. Maybe moderate Muslims do not follow the most extreme beliefs, but they are there in the Koran.

In most cases thats Muslims killing Muslims, I thought some of you guys want all Muslims dead :confused:

We are I thought talking about the threat to US in the west?
The recent evidence and REALITY of the situation clearly shows the west has just a big threat if not bigger from right-wing terrorism!!

How many right-wing extremist attacks have there been in the UK in say...the last 10 years?
 
Its no surprise that most terrorist attacks originate from countries that are unstable and impoverished in a lot of cases. Most of those countries also happen to be mainly muslim but that doesn't mean that islam condones the violence.

There have been a few mosque bombings and a few Muslim murders but even the Security Minister James Brokenshire has warned we are running the risk of a Far Right extremist attack similar to the mass murderer Anders Breivik who gunned down 77 young Norweigans if we carry on with this anti-muslim hate propaganda.
You only have to look as far as this thread to see how deep seated this hate and prejudice has gotten :(

Do you mean we should not be including the Tunisian attack on Sousse beach today killing 37 in cold blood? :confused:

As I have said already, the British and other Europeans have a consistency in their actions. They bark a lot but rarely bite. They have lots to say, hark back to the good old days but frankly just want to get on with their lives and will in the end put up with a lot, the British probably more so than anyone....for most for the time. However, there comes a day when speaking for the British that dog becomes a bulldog and I think often that is when our country is at it's finest. However, if you push and push the dog gets really really ****** off and then we unify and go kill stuff. Sadly that stuff right now is looking most likely to be muslim people and sadly if the lack of noise from the muslim community comes, no matter if you believe that right or wrong, the day will come and I too fear it is close. However, I suspect that will be much more organised and we might see muslim people (and no doubt none muslims in the cross fire) killed and the whole country will be appalled.

However what will also happen is the muslim community, totally understandably, will probably seek revenge and at that point it is over, it will become a jews Germany situation I fear and in countries like France and Germany probably much worse. Right now I feel we are closer to a full on European conflict than ever in my 47 years, I just don't think it will involve tanks and planes, I think it will involve lynch mobs.

That's the point, I did try to educate myself about the facts looking into what ex Muslims were saying about the religion lmao. If I educate myself directly from the source i'm sure they are not going to be biased and exclaim "Religion of tolerance and peace" an ex Muslim is directly from the source too.

Akmeeda - it's good to get some perspective in such threads. And I think you are doing that and to your credit your are offering perspective without the woe is me angle. I can respect that and I suspect others in this thread do too even if they don't necessarily agree with you. You come across very well.

I just said that there are idiots who do stupid things, but I said go into the teachings of Buddhism and try find them mentioning stoning apostates to death. Read the Koran and you'll find a bunch of militant and intolerant hogwash.... how can people deny this?

I don't understand how people can say Islam is not to blame for the violence when it quite clearly is, it's written in their teachings!

This is not made up to fit an agenda or to spread hate about Islam, it's just the truth. The sooner people tackle this head on maybe we will start to see change, but sat around denying it and exclaiming religion of peace is utterly absurd! it's bonkers. Things have been getting gradually worse, look at the rise of ISIS now.
