Major fire in Canterbury!

Hope no-one is hurt, buildings can be replaced. From the looks of it a lot of wood used in the construction which won't have helped :(

Agree with Neil. "Get a grip". Good god, some people are very cold.

Jesus Christ, are you incapable of comprehending words on a screen? I wasn't telling the people who have just lost their homes and possessions to get a grip. I was telling some random bystander who reacting as if he's been personally affected by the fire that has in no way affected his life to get a grip and stop being touchy on an internet forum after somebody else made a simple word play of the situation to lighten the mood.

Not everyone witnesses scenes like this during their lives first hand. Neil may have been quite affected by it.

Very much so, in all my life I've never seen a fire like it! The crash of timbers falling, windows buckling from the heat. People crying out about their possessions and pets. At the time we didn't even know if anyone was dead in the fire, there were police everywhere and fire crews. Besides it wasn't just 1 flat, we are talking an entire block!!

Calm down please chaps. You clearly have differing opinions, so accept that and move on with the thread lest ye go too far and trigger terrible and clammy mod-wrath.

Not sure what sparked the petty arguments above. Sure, we won't always get along like a house on fire, but no need flame each other so much.

Horrible thing to happen. One of the scariest things in the world a house fire.
I know someone who lost everything in one, and two years later is still trying to get back on track. Some things are irreplaceable though. :(
Certainly nothing to joke about.
