Dodgy call "From Natwest"

Just got called "From Natwest" to my mobile out of the blue from the number 07468 749971. Background silent (no call centre background noise), non-english speaker and saying they're calling from Natwest mortgages and attempting to offer ~170 pound saving. She didn't sound confident and chinese/russian accent.

The number is a mobile number according to the internet..

Dude he thinks it's funny as **** to mock foreigners speaking English because their employers are too cheap to pay Brits to offer him a service, how good do you think his reading comprehension is?

OP, regardless you should give Natwest a call and ask if they have phoned you or not, if they have not (I strongly suspect) then hand over the number to them, so they can look into it. :)

just mock them, wind them up a bit....

I can't stand cold callers who start the calls by blatantly telling lies to me

"Hello I'm calling from Microsoft, its about your computer"

"which computer would that be?"

"how many computer you have?"

"sorry I have to stop you there, the plural of computer is computers, what you meant to ask me is how many computers do I have"

surprising that some people fall for these scams, had a friend give bank details to some scammer they took control remotely of the laptop they have, and was viewing them on webcam lol.

he said he was from talk talk and they was due a refund, fell for it hook line and sinker even installed a password on the laptop making it useless.

had to wipe drive for them and re install the web cam now has black tape on it ,shes kinda paranoid now :p
 
I just had an email from a Nigerian saying he can give me a gazillion pounds, what should i do?!

In other news a man in New York starved to death because the only item in his fridge was a thermometer and he didn't know what temperature it should be cooked at.

hung up as soon as she said HSBC since I have no dealings with them..
 
Do you have a mortgage with Natwest?
As my RBS mortgage advisor somewhere in Greenock in Scotland called me one day, left a voice mail, and when I called her back, after a short chat, she ended up saying me about £150 a year for the next few years on one of the mortgages.
Rather fortunate, and she called from her work mobile too, seems to be what they do to get around the withheld number slapping ofcom will hit them with.
You sure she wasn't Scottish? ;)
