I like the simple uncluttered layout on here. Several other forums I frequent are a mess of different avatars, signatures and advertising. Take an age to load particularly if your browsing on a phone.

I think the forum's own simplicity is the reason for it's success. But with a few tweaks here and there, I'm sure it could run better still. I'm sure old software would be developed and tweaked by it's developers.

I don't like forums which look fine, then an administrator suddenly pulls the trigger and 99% of the forum users are suddenly complaining about wasted screen space and the extra padding for touch screen and mobile devices.

Simple layout, quick to navigate on phone - as other people have said - perfect toilet reading. lol

But aside from that, this forum contains a wealth of knowledge that would help anyone building their first PC, creating their first loop and people are happy to help, make recommendations that are realistic and aiming towards the OP's end goal for their build.

Even aside from tech stuff, some of the other threads for home purchasing etc etc are very informative.

For me it's the combination of a diverse range of people and also a wide range of topics discussed. At different points in my life I've been addicted to certian sub forums as I've needed a new gfx card, new cpu, home server, etc. If I need to buy or sell then there is the MM and for non-techie things there is motors, sports and GD. There is always one place I'm interested in. Some of the GD discussion is funny too and people shouldn't take it too seriously.

I went along to the London meet recently and people were surprisingly normal

I guess there is always speakers corner where more serious subjects can be discussed and neither side berated like in GD. I am agnostic but would be more than happy to have a sensible discussion on whether a god or gods exist. But the sticking point for me is that I have to see evidence with my own eyes and that seems completely opposite to the faith that religions expect.

Its easy to throw insults about! Especially good at it are the atheists on here as they have to have a go at anyone who has any religious beliefs. It proves they are frightened and scared of anyone who has such strong faith. They feel intimidated and insecure!! So sad really. God bless them i say.

... People have a go at you because you talk utter nonsense at times... And everytime someone questions you you play the religious card.
