The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Installed, not as loud as the first one but still has a whine to it. :(

Have to say i much prefer the gigabyte packaging over the sapphire, the gigabyte just had flaps that opened, with the sapphire the foam box was inside cardboard inside a sleeve and it took a good 5 minutes of wiggling it around to get the damn thing out.

Oh well, another one to go back. Just looks like these are a no go for the time being :(

Shame to hear the whining issue is present on the second card too. AMD seem to be keeping very tight lipped about this issue. Surely they can come up with some arrangement with the manufacturer of the pump units. After all the cards themselves seem to be fine.

its not good advertising for coolermaster either
if they have fixed it they need to recall the bad ones and get them off youtube lol

This one also has a slight buzzing to it even while sitting at idle. Prob will do a compare. Having it sitting beside you its very noticeable because of the pitch of the whine.

I struggled to hear the whine.. but then I had my ear right to my phone speaker trying to hear it rather than listening on headphones.

Maybe do another video with a normal fan cooled card in?

It is pointless posting videos when demonstrating sound levels as no 2 people have the level set the same when playing back.

My god how anal can you be.

How about you get a clue? last i checked i have had two of the cards you've yet to get 1 so im speaking from experience, you're just jumping into defensive fanboy mode despite being clueless about the issue from a first hand point of view.

This card is slightly quieter than the last one, when gaming the pitch seems to lower but is joined by a kind of reverberating\grinding kind of noise. Seems to be the same issue that toms hardware experienced.

The retail card’s noise profile is different from that of the press sample in the sense that the XFX card doesn’t just have a whistling noise, but also a lower saw-like noise. Really, it sounds like a buzz saw with an oscillating out-of-balance blade. It even includes the saw’s motor noise. The graphics card’s obviously not as loud, but the acoustic profile is quite similar. Consequently, we’ve labeled this noise “buzz.”

Sorry to hear your Sapphire has the same issue.

Kind of shows how much bull amd were spreading. We're now two weeks from the launch and still cards are showing the old pump with the whine.

AMD are proving to be no better than Nvidia. We so need more competition in this area.
