GPU Opinion

I find the 970 to be a great card. I have an EVGA SC acx 2.0 and it works great. They do get pretty warm regardless of what people say, if left to the stock fan profile I'm sure it would push past 80c.

My biggest gripe after having the card since October/November is I lack of compatability with AIO liquid coolers. Cant use the EVGA hybrid. Can't use the corsair hg10 thing either. Look for a stock PCB card IMO.

You shouldn't have to liquid cool a single 970. Have you tried replacing the TIM with Arctic Silver 5 or similar?

What im Worried about, there isnt any games, that I play, or will play that will use advantage of the 980TI power..might just bid on ebay for a used 970 SC one

Yeah, that's why I suggested getting a b-grade 970 or a 290x. It all depends on how long you plan to keep the card. It's the same thing with the 8gb vram thing I tried to explain here to no avail:p

We're in a very unfortunate period when it comes to GPUs as most of them are rebrands and the top dogs are really expensive. Getting something used but offering decent performance might be the best way to go.

Having said all that, if you do get a 980Ti you might get quite a bit of mileage out of it at 1080p. But you know how it is, there's always something better around the corner.

I don't even know what the difference from all these are..apart from the brand..and price tag haha, anyone care to explain, which is the best and why?

For a 980ti I'd go for the Zotac AMP Not the extreme model you pictured. Zotac have a 5 year warranty unlike all the others which are 2 or 3 year plus at 509 quid it is one of the cheapest non reference versions.

EDIT: There's a B grade 970 in the clearance section at the minute.

It isn't really because I need it. A custom fan profile does the job of not going past 75c. I just want to try it Out tbh. I'm getting into the PC scene and doing some conservative mods.

It is just a hint for the guy iF he ever considers and AIO liquid cooler he needs to think about it now.

Fair enough, can't argue with the reasons there!
