You've asked for competitive pricing and we've listened however some websites may not disclose the cost of competitive and cheap hard drives. The warranty is limited to 1 year.

I've got some of the best pricing on Seagate storage for those who like a bargain. It is not mixed with the UK warranty stock these are separate sku's for those who want to save some money buying the exact same drive.

On the 4TB NAS drive i'm assuming there is very little wiggle room in the prices. While I am itching to buy another one I don't think a £2.29 saving vs a competitor is worth it when losing 24 months warranty.

But I also don't know at what price point I would hit buy as funds are tight. I'm down to 1Tb on a 12tb array so know I need to soon though....

probably not NAS has had some really good promotions in June so some suppliers may still have lots of left over stock allowing them to match the lower price and keep the warranty high.

I've split the sku's so people know we're not trying to deceive them. Stock isn't mixed to average prices either. Some people will take the saving others won't :)

Yeah got told about hard drive offers in June July 1st by a guy who knew I was after a drive. . . . Think that NAS drive dropped to £108 on one site. . . . annoying. But never mind. Will be other offers :-)

good prices!

I take it these are desktop HDDs and not laptop size?

Desktop.

There is no physical difference but they come from other regions where lower price policies are in use and purchased in euros and as such the strong gbp means our purchase price is much lower.

As they don't come from UK distributor they don't have full 3yr and warranty is with Ocuk and is 1yr.

Some resellers mix stock and take gamble, we'd just be honest and list separate with reduced warranty for reduced price.

We've used seagate in our systems for a very long time. Very few returns in general but even less for HDD issues

Was waiting for the seagate ripping for unreliability but has that changed now?

had 8TB of seagate consumer grade under 24/7 use at home for around three years now.

wouldn't touch another brand of drives personally, but then I purchase my own storage based on having access to the OcUK return rates

You guys need to look at your WD red pricing, for 3TB for example you are about 10% higher than the forest.

P.S I still prefer to use you for most things if the difference is small, keep up the good work! :)

Boggles my mind how cheap hard drives are now. 1TB for 35 quid. What a time to be alive!

Still remember going to one of those computer fairs yonks ago with my brother.

He wanted a 6GB drive and the cheapest one there was 200 smackers.

I remember the days when a HDD was 600mb! was loads of space for games at the time as they required the disks to run as well lol

Oh yeh, my first PC had a mahoosive 120MB drive in it!

Also remember agonising whether to get it with 4 or 8MB of ram!

Went with 4MB in the end because it was £30(!) a MB back in those days and I didn't want to pay an extra £120 for the privilege!

4mb and 8mb video cards as well!
