So I have just unplugged my whole system because my SSD's where running SATA 2, I had them plugged into the SATA 3 ports but wasn't registering as SATA 3 so just changed the cables and they are still running as SATA 2? Don't understand this at all :(

ACHI is on in the BIOS. Running Windows 7 OEM 64 Bit Home Premium

Specs are in the sig BTW :D (Forgot to put the mobo in their though didn't I like a moron) Running least Mobo BIOS. It's both SSD's not just one but both :(

what speeds are you getting and what are you testing to get the results?

if its hd tune you need to change the benchmark from 64k to 8mb and re test

what colour sata ports are you using?

Just ran DiskRefresh and am getting 430mb/s minimum 460mb/s maximum on my 850 evo so I must be getting Sata 3 however it says I am not. 510 mb/s minimum on my BX100 so that is also fine. Using the white ports on my mobo sata ports which are the correct ones. Maybe DiskRefresh fixed the issues along with changing the benchmark settings.

It's worth putting full specs in the opening post of a thread like this. The 'Samsung Evo' in your sig could have been an Evo 840, which would have meant that could have been the issue with the old firmware.

What's it like on a fresh install?

How many processes do you have running on a fresh boot?

I'd be tempted to try this..

Take a full system image backup (good practice to do these weekly/monthly anyway) using Macrium Reflect.

Then run this..

http://sourceforge.net/projects/snappy-driver-installer/
Needs about 10gb space for the driver packs. A shotgun blast at updating your drivers.

I might give this a try, I did upgrade the Firmware when the issue was meant to be resolved by Samsung though.
