Can i check in hotel earlier?

So ive booked a hotel with few mates for amsterdam, and cant see any sort of email to email them.
But online check in says 13.00, and we arrive at 11, would they allow us to check in earlier or is it strictly that time.

Or does it depend if previous people have clocked out?

Your lack of independent thinking and general lack of common sense is quite unsettling.

OP will be sold into the gay sex slave trade within 2 hours of touching down in Amsterdam going by this post. Common sense is becoming more scarce around here by the day.

God youngsters of today, no adventure!

Last time us oldies went there for a weekend (ages from 45 to 76) we arrived early and left bags with reception and went out to the nearest bar. We came back at 4am the next morning and didnt claim our bags until the following day :D

Have you not used a hotel before? Checking your bags at the front desk is standard... ditto to when you check out and have say an evening flight.

That really made me laugh for some reason :D

Back on topic: It just depends on the hotel/cleaners, they have a check-in time to say that's what time you're guaranteed to have a room from. I've had quite a bit of luck from my last few holidays tuning up to the hotel a good few hours before check-in time to be told my room is ready.

I'm now certain that without GD, most of the posters on OcUK would not be able to function fully in the world.

It's almost as if people cannot think for themselves and straight away think "to tha interwebz and ocuk gd".

Not trying to be a ass here, but it would have taken you less time to ring them than write this post.

Are you seriously telling us that if you google the hotel name, there is no telephone number to call and ask?

But does phoning the hotel add to your post count on OCUK? :p

I am really starting to despair of late! I know GD has always been the go to for random inane posts but seriously, 'Can I check in Hotel Earlier'???

what age are you - I'm guessing this is a school trip and you can't get in touch with your teacher who will be chaperoning you to confirm the answer???

lock and a ban maybe:p or better still maybe a name change for the OP is required :D

If their not fully booked and have the right sort of room available they may let you check in 2 hours early. Have done this in the past but it really depends on whether the room is available. It's common sense really, the official rule is 1pm onwards.

Your booking invoice should have a phone number for them or a simple google search would find it. You deserve a lot of the criticism here frankly :p

Old enough to go to a festival with mates in Amsterdam, yet does not know how a hotel works. Hmn.

You can call ahead and ask for an early check-in. It will generally cost you another night though. It just depends on the hotel policy.
As said, you can leave your bags with the concierge if you arrive and your room isnt ready. They will put your bags in your room for you when its ready. 13.00 check in time just gives housekeeping time to get through the rooms, especially on weekends when check out time is usually later.

A decent hotel would. Once I checked in at 7am when it was 1pm for check in.

Depends on occupancy though. It doesnt matter how decent the hotel is, if all the rooms are full the night before then you cant check in at 7am unless you are going to throw the previous occupants out at 5am and clean the room? :P

If you are arriving on the Train from the airport, there are lockers you can use, When we got there we just paid the 5 euro or what ever and did what we wanted to till later in the day.

You are going to Amsterdam...why would you want to go to the hotel straight away anyway? Just go there, leave your bags till your room is ready then go and sample the finest herbs the city has to offer..return back in few hours..

Because, I have a festival, at 1pm that I/we have to get to and dont want to walk around with bags
