Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

I'm a bit dubious about ordering any cases I hope someone gets theirs soon that one just posted looks exactly what I would want.

Still waiting for mine to come into store. It's gone from 1-2 weeks on their site to 2-4 working days now.

No unless you must have a waterproof phone and even then I'd suggest a Sony over that.

EDIT: I mean yes, get this. I'm a prize chump.

So you mean yes?

Vodafone SU6 seems to out-do the Moto G in every area other than front facing speakers and water resistance.

CPU, RAM, screen, SU6 wins.

The new Moto G should be coming out soon which I imagine will be slightly better than this and will definitely have a longer update cycle.

Has anybody had any issues with the headphone jack at all? Mine is suddenly not letting the headphones clip in correctly.

Has anyone managed to connect to Vodafone with this phone through one of their Sure Signal Devices... preferably the Model 3 (plug-in) type?

Although I can connect when outside in a strong signal area covered by a 'mast', it will not pick up the network at all through the Sure Signal, even though the number is registered to it.

My wife's phone (also on Vodafone) works just fine!

Getting really fed up with Vodafone now.

SureSignal is device agnostic, while there's a 1% chance it's the handset, it's extremely unlikely. You havn't changed number/SIM recently have you?

Thanks for your rely.

Yes, it's a new SIM and a new number, which has been added to my SureSignal, and I can see it in the list under 'My Account'.

I have now been advised by Vodafone to 'reboot' or reset the SureSignal, which might help, but as you say I don't think it is a handset problem either!

give it a day or two, SS'es are basically a mini cell tower who take their knowledge from 2 systems behind the scenes - one is a sure signal controller and the other is the big giant database of vodafone customers which ties SIM numbers to phone numbers (aka MSISDNs). Until both are updated, your phone won't be authenticated against the SS.

Reboot the device every 12 hrs, it will get new data from both systems and if you don't get anywhere in 3 days, call up 191.

3 days!!... that's like a lifetime for an impatient chap like me... I've got this lovely new phone, and I want to us it at home NOW! ;)

Anyway, the first reboot didn't solve the problem, so I got back to Vodafone tech support again, who this time put me through to one of their SureSignal 'experts'.

On hearing my tale of woe, he said that would add and remove the new number, and then do a full update/reset on my SS from his end.

Less than half an hour later, when I had two solid white lights again, I switched the phone back on and bingo... I finally saw Vodafone UK appear at the top of the screen, and a couple of messages appear.

Hopefully I have got there at last, although I could right a book about my experiences with Vodafone customer services over the last week, which have been extremely frustrating... and I sure that them having support staff based in Egypt (as well as Belfast & Glasgow) hasn't really helped me at all... to say the least! :(
