First....ebay sucks, haven't used it for years but the interface is still dreadful, even worse when it's in a foreign language....anyway.

Listed an item today, and I've had a zero feedback buy it now with a few hours. International as well even though I am sure I said no international delivery. I assume this is a scam...I'll get payment through paypal, send goods, he'll dispute it, and I lose right?

Can't be arsed with the hassle, can I just tell him to get stuffed?

Cancelled it, the advert definitely only listed delivery to Germany so I cancelled it on the basis there was a problem with the address.

Might stick it on MM, good value for you chaps with the FX rate at the mo :)

1 Dont send Item if he pays
2 He will claim not delivered, you refund him via paypal refund
3 ????
4 relist or dont use escambay

I didn't realise how bad ebay was these days, I haven't sold anything on it for years. Think I'll just punt it on some classifieds somewhere.

Ebay is hit and miss, I only buy off reputable companies and then only cheap items.

My motto is only spend on ebay if you can stand the loss

Sold quite a few items on there in recent months and only had one issue when a buyer changed his mind. Thankfully he posted the item back to me and all was well. I tend to make it clear where I'm willing to post to and remove any international offers or those with zero or low feedback. Plus it only tends to be cheapish things (<£50).

Hard to remove if buy it now.

I don't see how any of this is an issue with eBay.

You should have listed the item with specific delivery conditions, and specific buyer conditions. Both of which can be set when listing the item. It isn't difficult.

This was a few hundred quid, and the zero feedback guy just did a buy-it-now. Honestly it took months of dealing with their customer service to get my account working again...the prospect of dealing with a dispute...meh, cba. He can leave feedback if he wants I ain't sending it....time to move on.

Still can't believe how horrendous the website is....I've lived in China, UK and Germany using that account and it has a habit of randomly redirecting to different country websites and back again, changing languages all the time. Such a load of toss.

I only listed one delivery option, domestic. I don't know how that equates to saying I will offer international delivery.

Besides, it's not the delivery that's the problem, it's the zero feedback guy with dodgy English trying to scam me.

I'm guessing you left the global shipping programme option ticked.

And you can restrict buyers to having a certain amount of feedback etc. Like I said, it isn't difficult.

Well i fell for it. I have always listed my items as not been internalional and I even put it in bold on my description.

I even unticked the boxes for the lcoations i dont ship to.

Guess what. Ebay has this new automatic you ship to a uk sorting office and ebay handles the international shipping from there.

I wasnt aware of this new feature from ebay deisgned to increase the value of my goods listed.

End result is that somebody from italy bough the item with 5 seconds to go.

2nd place uk bidder changed his mind and didnt want it

Had to relist and switch off this new ebay feature.

And how does global shipping overide me saying i want ship to anywhere but the uk by unticking all the other countries in the world? Its a stupid automatic system by Ebay if you ask me

It takes clicking one tick box when listing to turn off the global shipping programme. You just didn't pay enough attention.

The interface is fine, user error as usual. When you are listing towards the bottom, you can restrict who bids for. Selecting uk postage only doesn't block anyone from bidding.

Global shipping isn't even automatically selected, you have to select it.
Listed half a dozen items yesterday none had it auto selected.

It actually is auto selected when I list new items, but I noticed it the first time it appeared. If you go into site peferences under your eBay account, you can turn it off for good there under postage and packaging preferences.

Maybe it's not on mine as I have block buyers who have a foreign main address, negative feed back and a few other things.

eBay is doing a program for international buyers where seller posts to a UK eBay distribution center and then rest is taken care of. You can opt out of that when listing I believe but why would you if you are only going to ship to a UK address? Not a bad thing if that opens up more opportunities to sell.

Maybe because i didnt know Ebay had added this wonderful new feature that overides my setting that i dont ship abroad and is ticked by default!
