Plusnet increase line rental

Force communication providers to advertise the cost of their 'broadband' packages as being the total price - inclusive of the line rental that is required, and the broadband price after any introductory offers - and this issue of hiking line rental to subsidise broadband will disappear overnight.

This.

Plusnet have offered me this deal: (the price is much the same as SSE but far cheaper than SSE)

Fibre Unlimited Extra with up to 80Mbps down and up to 20Mbps up with unlimited usage £12.50 for 24 months (saving of £179.76 off)

Line Rental £0.00 for 12 months (saving of £48.00 off) if paying upfront LRS £155.88 one off fee before 2nd September 2015

Anytime Call Plan (inc free calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845, 0870 and NGT Typetalk) £6.00 per month

Static IP Address £0.00 (free of charge)

Referral Discount -£2.50

Monthly charge £16.00 (with a saving of £227.76) with a minimum of 24 months contract.

2 Year contract seem a lot.

Am I right in thinking though should they increase the prices next year (which most likely will happen again) that you can leave or renegotiate again and won't be tied in?

If the price rise happen in 12 months time (can leave PN with no early termination fee) even in 24 months contract deal. Because of line rental & call charge increase if this happen again in 12 months later.

I cancelled my BT today. The woman on the line tried to persuade me to stay so I told her to match the deal I can get with Plusnet. She couldn't so I cancelled.

I will be saving £10 a month for my broadband and at least £20 a month on calls with the unlimited call plan which is £5 a month.

Happy days :)

Be careful....if she cancelled it mean it could result cease on your line for phone and broadband. You should contract Plusnet to get the order in. So it will transfer from BT to PN.

No mac code is needed anymore.

I got an Email from BT telling me everything will be cancelled on the 24th of August. So I will sign up with Plusnet a week before.

If u sign up a week before 24th of August but BE WARNED, it take 10 working days for PN to contact BT to move your broadband & phone over to PN then another 7-10 days for the migration to go through but your BT broadband & phone could be cease by the time PN contact BT.

You better get your order in right away!

We just dumped plus-net and sky for price hiking. ;)

Going with virgin £100 voucher 18 month contract, 150mb BB, The big kahula package or something line rental etc.

£49 a month for 12 months then £65 s month, but with £100 voucher its still cheaper.

We where paying £30 for sky and £50 for plus-net after price hike, bloody scandalous.

How does this new migration stuff work with no MAC address? You give 30 days notice to BT, you place an order with someone else, what happens if they take over before the 30 days is up?

The chances of you timing it exactly are pretty much impossible surely?

What you're supposed to do is ask your new Provider to take over your services without even speaking to your current provider but some people do. If you want to port your number from your old to your new then I wouldn't cancel the old, let the new do the transfer and it should cancel automatically with the old.

Ordered my Plusnet bundle today. £16.99 line rental, £6 unlimited calls, 99p caller display.

76 meg broadband : £10 for 6 months then £19.99 for the next 12 months.

I will be saving around £24 per month coming from BT :)

And while you can use it as a means to get out of your contract you won't receive a refund for any payments 'extra' you've made by paying upfront.

Really, I wouldn't get refunded for the remaining amount of line rental I paid?

Anyway the call plan has also gone up which I currently pay 5 pounds a month for
