Hyperwalk - omg why?

Don't see the point, looks like pretty pointless in a city, don't see who their market is other than the quick-to-forget-move-on youth market + moron market.

That's the whole point in the city, a place with even flat concrete/tarmac surfaces. You are basically going jogging speed between places and get there without a sweat, no need to park up your bike, just pick it up and take it into where you are going to and not on the road fighting traffic unlike a bike.

It will never work in the muddy countryside or design to go 10 miles trips, it is actually perfect for the city. Of course, unless you are going between West to East side of London then you are not going to do that all the way, but between your flat to the tube station, it works.

Can see it now. Loads of people on these wheeling about with selfie sticks. Crashing into each other then two on the ground grinning together taking selfies before they get back up.

Well when you are surrounded by people in a dense area... like Manhattan or something, its bound to be obnoxious people using them thinking they own the pavement.

Obnoxious or not is beside the point.

Yeah well the other gyroscopic transport methods haven't taken off to the point that every commuter uses them either.

The single and most damaging reason is that cities aren't designed for them and wont be for a long time, when the car is mostly retired and a significant percentage of roads are purely for pedestrians...maybe.

I'm not saying its a stupid method, its just illogical.

The only logical point you have made is other people on the pavement.

Sure, going down Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon is not going to work, but who's to say going from your Flat in Zone 4 to the station at 7am is going to be packed like Oxford Street at midday.

And who's to say every pavement along the way only has space of the width of 1 person?

If you are on that, at the time that photo was taken, what is the problem exactly ?

Yesterday as I was nearing home, I came across three people on what looked to be these. I wasn't very impressed, and they was blaring rubbish music out while using them.

I've seen a few people in London using a similar system. I'm not sure what it's called, but its a bulkier looking thing that goes between your legs and was also featured on Dragon's Den.

They tend to get a lot of weird looks from people.

None, but a bicycle would work just as good and doesn't need to waste a battery every x number of hours.

Did you buy one of these or something?

No, I didn't buy one, but I am making a point that they are not pointless in the city.

As for the bicycle, see my previous point about needing to lock it up after you get there and the danger of riding on the road (that's another thread's topic altogether with bike v cars on roads).

To follow up on what Raymond said, it's not that uncommon now to see people in business dress on the pavements using scooters. I've seen a few people in their 50s doing it.

So I would guess it's similar to that, but motorised. I personally think both look pretty silly though.

ONLY 10kgs but point taken

only 10kg lol my bike weighs 10kg and it's not even a light bike

doesn't dimple or someone have an electric bike that barely weights more than 10kg and it's probably cheaper than this thing and you won't look like an idiot riding it

Do people really care what strangers think?

I am sure once upon a time we all think is weird to drive a car instead of riding horses.

Sigh, you really ask that in today's self-serving, loathing world?

Of course people care about what others think, otherwise you wouldn't bother getting dressed.

Tbh I mainly get dressed cause I don't want to be freezing or sun hurt or have to cram my phone and wallet up my ass hole to avoid losing them

Then why not every one dress like Chairman Mao wanted?

Fashion by definition is a trend, a trend that can divide opinion, some people will like it and some people don't. By getting dressed you are going to upset someone (She can't be wearing a Yellow scarf with green socks!)

If you really worried about what people think, you would hide in bed and never leave the house.

I don't disagree, but everyone has varying degrees of narcissism involved in their psychology, its just how we function.

if no one cared everyone would be using selfie sticks
people wouldn't buy overly priced apple crap for the name and everyone would be wearing no name clothes yet they don't
