How many graphics cards have you bought/owned in the last 2 years?

How many have you bought/owned in the last 2 years?

4.
MSI 980Ti Gaming 6G
Sapphire R290X Vapor-X 4GB
Gainward Phantom 570Ti
Gainward GLH 570Ti

Of those how many did you need to RMA ?

None needed RMA as such but the 570 GLH ran way way way too hot and noisy in a Silverstone FT03 case and so I ended up trading it with my brother for his phantom (as he had a far bigger case and better airflow). It was much better in there. But I was very disappointed at how hot the thing ran and the noise of the fan.

I'll bite,

How do you guys feel about the money that's cost you? This is particularly interesting when considering that some of these "upgrades" aren't really much of an upgrade.

Demand and supply ! I sell while the old high-end cards are still worth some cash and then I don't need to spend a whole lot on a new card. That's how I've been rolling all the years

Out of the 140 graphics cards I have owned I have only RMA'ed 4 !

Never RMAed any computer hardware ever. I did have a hiper PSU that semi caught on fire, but the company went bust for some unknown reason :D so couldn't RMA it.

Haha i had one of them badboys too, only thing that survived mine going pop was my GPU, good excuse for an upgrade though :)

Bought a 7970 in 2012, which I used up until this year (not sure if that counts as one)

Otherwise: Palit SJS 980, sent it back, bought a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980Ti, had to RMA it so I temporarily bought a 970... So 3, or 4 if you are counting the one I previously owned, with one being RMA'd.

You're actually not joking.

Out of interest why you sold your MSI 980Ti Gaming that you had for about 2 weeks lol? (If you don't mind me asking)

He's sold his entire rig

Lol, I sold my high end stuff, big tower PC with the intention of sticking with Mini PC for now as gaming less on PC.

Few days with just the mini PC and I'm ready to get a decent PC back lol :p

I'm putting something together with the bits I have left over etc. Gonna build a Micro ATX system. Small but mighty is the plan. Nothing high end on GPU though, 960/970 Max.

Get some pictures 8Pack! While we're on the topic, you got any 780Ti's you want rid of? :p

NVIDIA 560 needed more vram
AMD 7950 nice upgrade.

Personally im surprised how many cards people seem to go through. I dont see value in upgrading unless you see at least a 50% performance increase.

I am having to look back to when I actually purchased my cards as its been so long ago.

BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB - 3/11/2007

POV GTX 570 1280 MB - 24/08/2013
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 WindForce 4096MB - 6/7/2015

So.... two cards in the 2 year period :(

Isn't there already a thread like this somewhere?
All i know, i've owned nearly every card from the last couple of generations.

In good news of my addiction, i've been sober since April. With no plans on relapse.
