What was the verdict on the Goblin Mini. Decided for less than 20 notes I'd order one from FastTech last night.

What's flavour like compared to say an Atlantis V2, Subtank Mini or Lemo2?

for £30 it's worth the cash.. I've not got a try hit from it and I'm on my third build, I just used more cotton and the leaking has stopped and opened up the airflow more to take in account for the extra cotton

The downsides are:
possible leaking
bottom fill and it's silly screw
can be a tad hard to take apart
stupid driptip or 510 driptip convertor (don't sit right on mine)

The upside is:
MTL tank
lung hitting tank
airflow adjuster
nice looking
good flavour regardless - better than the subtank and lemo one..
price
customisable with different colours.

So then Mr Slinxy, say you had 70 bucks.. spec me a smoke :P just the hardware, I can get the flavours myself.. but what would you go for.. I understand having a spare, but this is unlikely to affect me, I won't be dropping it etc..

Really enjoying mine. Haven't had any leaking issues providing you build it correctly.

Flat head screw for the fill port is slightly annoying I admit.

I wouldn't pay any more than what FT is offering it for (£17).

I used the wicking technique that Trevor Jones uses albeit this is for the original Goblin:

Starts at around 31 mins.

I would get the istick 40w TC with the aspire nautilus mini..

The mod has temperature control for you to play around with later, more than enough battery life and give out enough power. Has the improved button..

The Nautilus mini is small enough for you swap juices after a day but should last the day, the coils will last 7-10 days and has temperature coils for you to play with later.

That's £55 pounds.. :)

There's plenty of reviews on youtube of them both..

cheers mate, I'll have to let you know how I get on.. on the subject of coils.. they wear out or? Like I said, this is my first toe-dip, so a complete noob here!!!

They get clogged up with junk from the juice so it forms a layer and the juice don't vaporise correctly... also the cotton or wick material can get burn or junk'd up so it starts loosing flavour or not pulling the juice correctly.

Basically if you start getting less flavour or vapor.. or it starts tasting funky.. it's time to change. For some odd reason if you keep to the same juice they tend to last longer. Some people say if you brake the coils in by using them at lower power to start with then move the power up after a while they last longer, but I don't bother with that.

later on you can dry burn them, basically fire the device at low power without juice to burn off the junk on the coil and within the wick material... but it all depends on the coils you have, this method works better on some coils than others.

The aspire bvc coils tend to last a lot longer than some other in the market where you get 2-3 days use.

You can get replacement glass parts like the original and totally different ones like a shorty kit or bellcap for the tiafun.

If it's the tiafun 1, the KFL+ will be a good replacement.. Nice tight draw.
If it's the tiafun 2, has to be the squape rs, airflow for days..

Budget rec would be the goblin mini at the moment, but of a pain to build but does both MTL and direct lung very well.

P4U IPV D2... No one has one yet but on paper it looks very good for £30, I would recommend getting a separate battery charger and not using the built in one. But an yihi chip with 75w and TC for under £30.. It's a no brainer..

Thanks Slinxy, is the squape bottom fed with those stupid screw things as they seriously annoy me? I would consider a Goblin mini but again the screw feed is putting me off.

What about the kanger sub tank mini? I understand it's rebuildable as rather than buying coils too which is a plus.

so the 'coil' is essentially the roach lol.. or the filter, if you are observing etiquette! so is this the reason why a rebuildable is what you want? After a few days, you can 'rebuild' your atty with a fresh coil? I know I'm a complete nub on here right now.. but I did have a look at some YT and tbh, real confusing..(like millions of vids!) you don't have any links to simple vaping stuff? Thanking you for your patience.. (and anyone else having to trawl through this!)

You pretty much summed it up mate. Rebuildable is better in the sense that coils need replacing every so often and if you build it yourself its a lot cheaper and you can customise how you like it.

The squape is a screw off tank, there's no screw on it to refill the tank.. The screw is actually for the 510 itself.. It's the most customisable tank by a long way with different decks for different build styles.

The subtank mini is a great lung hitting tank, but if you do get one.. Make sure you get the new rba selection.. The rba +, it's miles better than the old one which I took one look at and though "this will never work for me".

If you think of an old light bulb, the coil is the part that glows, in fact it's just a wire and the part that would glow and gets very hot, if it wasn't for the juice. The cotton or wick material (as there's many different types) is just there to get juice to the coil. You can get different wires and turn them into your own coils and pop cotton into them or around them in one form or another. It's not the hardest think to do but its best to get factory coils to start with as then you know what it should be like to vape.

Factory made coils heads have both the coil and wick material already setup for you..

Awesome, well ive just ordered the subtank....had a look at the squape and the genuine price is way too high whereas I read that the clones have some issues.

Fingers crossed it's decent and hopefully it will arrive soon. Ive got a new found love for dripping but its highly inconvenient while driving haha.

I have two of them, thou I have retired one to the never gets used tubberware box.. lol it is a good tank, with the the improve afc and rba.. its as good, if not better than most of the 20-40 RTAs that's around.

If I was going to buy my one and only RTA I would have opted for goblin mini, as it's possible to mtl and direct lung it that, also it's getting a lot of use at the moment (maybe cause it's the newest one I brought) along with the uta2 and the nv mini. The rest of the tanks are taking a back seat at the moment, thou I just got the dual coil deck for the squape.

As the Goblin will be my first dual coil tank, what do you achieve by going dual coil?

not a lot really.. lol
It's meant to give you more wire surface area and drop your ohms, 2x 1 ohm coils will give you 0.5ohms... but with all the different types of wires and builds you have now, there's not much you can't do on a single coil that would be much better with a dual coil.

Some people say dual coils, dual wicks, lower ohms, think more vapor.. but really... my 1.4 uta2 build throws out as much vapor and flavour as my dual coil 1 ohm goblin mini build... at the point I would need equipment to tell the difference. I suppose it is easiler to hit much lower subohm resistances, but I never build that low.. it's not needed with vw/vv mods.

Thanks, I knew about the having resistance and such from duals on drippers. I know what you mean about nor needing to sub ohm though. I've been exclusively sub ohming since I started vaping bit stuck a 1.4 ohm build on my Lemo2 last night and its no different to the 0.7 build our replaced

Good choice, they are fantastic when using the RBA deck. I didn't personally rate the coils (or any pre-made coils for that matter :p)

Hi peeps, absolutely loving the subtank mini 2 now. Even the Gf likes it but maybes thats because its the black edition :)

Either way I now need to get some wire and cotton to start building my own coils.

Is there an idiots guide of what to order.
I like 0.5ohm currently, I know the coild and number of wraps depends on the the wire gauge etc. I am sure there is a million and one ways to combine these areas but does anyone have a good starting point?
Also where to order the wire and cotton from? :)
