Hi all

Today I installed my new western digital 2TB hard drive. I went into disk management and select to initialise to GPT, Formatted it like should which took about 1hour or so

when it had finished I restarted the computer and went into file explorer but the hard drive isn't their.

I can see it on the bootup screen, in BIOS and disk manager

my current computer setup is:

windows 10 pro 64bit
intel i5 3570k
16gb ddr3 corsair vengeance

2 x 1TB western digital hard drives ( black edition) as MBRS in a RAID config

1 x Samsung 840 pro 256gb SSD ( has my operating system installed on this)

hope somebody can help,

Go back to Disk Management and inspect the partition. If it doesn't have a label or mount point, right click it and select "Change drive letter and paths".

No need to delete thread. Just post how you fixed it just in case someone else is having the same issue as it would be useful.

I'll never understand why people want to close a thread in this manner :/

He probably needed to assign a drive letter in Disk Management.
