All you can do is laugh. We all kinda expect it to happen and even then she still manages to shock and impress. Once she's whooped Miesha again they have to make the Cyborg fight. It'll be gigantic.

As nailed on a result as you're ever likely to come across.

The UFC has a problem in that their two women's divisions have champions that are light years ahead of any contender, either Joanna goes up or Cyborg comes down, they're the only two fights worth anything.

Rhonda never ceases to amaze. Makes it all look like a walk in the park

Love seeing these contenders get floored in 30 seconds after the months of trash talking they do:p

I didn't stay up because historically her matches are under 1 minute.

Did anyone know about the drama leading to this fight with the Four Horsewoman?

That's all the more reason to stay up. People pay to watch her finish a fight in under a minute, not a five round brawl.

And yes basically Ronda and three of her closest friends were given the nickname 'the four horsewomen' and Betch defeated two of them (the third isn't in the UFC). After each fight she would put one finger down like a checklist and Ronda was the final opponent.

Gadelha is a legit opponent for JJ, would be happy to see them have a trilogy of fights.

I find Ronda's fights that much more exciting to watch knowing that at any moment we could be seconds away from a finish.

Would certainly rather watch Ronda destroy her opponent in 30 seconds than watch five rounds of GSP playing it safe and grinding out a decision (although to be fair he was in some cracking fights also, he was just the first example that came to mind).

Ronda will probably retire undefeated. Nobody comes close, she's pure ruthless. A couple of decent fights as a hole but she steals the show every time.

I can't get my head around how ahead of her time she is for womans mma. Stayed up to watch and she came out swinging, I don't think there was much technical that blew me away from the main card but 34 second KO has got to feel pretty nice.

Yep, she is the most dominant sportsperson I have ever seen. She is so clearly ahead of everyone else in all the departments. She didn't even bother to take her down. It's scary how good she is. My only fear now is that she will have a complete lack of challenge (well more than already) and just give it all up to do something else.

I know she's head and shoulders above everyone else in the women's division but as mentioned above, it didn't appear to be the most clinical and technical striking I've ever seen!

Granted it's not her forte and she did get the job done incredibly well but if Correia had been a bit sharper with her own striking then things could have been very different indeed! (but then I guess it's a scathing indictment of the striking in general in women's MMA that the best in the world isn't that great!)

Don't get me wrong, Rousey is amazing at everything she does but she's not immune from being hit and a better striker might have caused her some serious problems with her wild style the other night!

I can see a couple of fill in fights while they get Santos into the UFC and them both to the right weight and then off to Hollywood to make some real money!

Rousey has incredible leeway in her striking game due to her dominant grappling; although she oft leaves herself vulnerable, her opponents are too caught up in trying to avoid the takedown to take advantage of it.

Just watched the Palhares vs Shields fight - there is something fundamentally wrong with Palhares' brain!

The guy is out and out the dirtiest fighter I've ever watched compete and deserves to be blacklisted from every MMA organisation imo!

I'm no fan of Shields but I sincerely hope he doesn't get in too much bother for the strike after the finish - I'm damn sure most people would have taken a swing at Palhares after holding the armbar that long! (not to mention the eye gouges!)

However, Palhares was denied a Submission of the Night bonus because he continued cranking the heel hook after the referee stepped in, an act UFC deemed "unsportsmanlike conduct." It was also noted that Pierce tapped a total of eight times to no response from Palhares.[29] The next day, while conducting an interview with ESPN's Jeremy Schaap, UFC president Dana White announced that the UFC was releasing Palhares effective immediately due to not letting go of the submission.[30] Hours later, UFC and Zuffa released a statement saying that Palhares was already in trouble for his failure to release his heel hook on Drwal in 2010 and his drug suspension in 2012, and his actions the night before were the last straw.[31]

I don't think its intentional with Palhares, I think he just has an absolutely awful fight IQ. When you hear about his upbringing and the struggles he had its really not surprising he has a few issues.

The big issue isn't how long he holds the submissions, its all about how he continues to crank them. Most people will lock up a submission and crank it to the point the guy is forced to tap, Palhares cranks it non stop.

Edit: Joe Lauzon pretty much just said the same crank think as me :o
