Is the 850 Pro 500GB worth the extra £60 over the 500GB Evo?

Had a quick search here and read a few reviews and it's close between the two.

No IMO it uses better mlc nand on the pro but its not worth the £60 extra

The evo is just as good and should last 10 years plus

There is a thread about issues with the evo, but that thread seems to be based around earlier versions of the drive. (just in case you spot it and get worried)

I have an evo and I think its fantastic :)

that is only effecting the 840 evo not the 850 evo.

issues meant to be resolved by now with the latest firmware installed and magician 4.6

I've purchased a 250Gb 850 evo recently, so far all working wonders. Didn't see much justification for purchasing the pro version. Benchmarks show slightly better speeds, and a 10yr warranty vs 5.

The price for a 250Gb SSD in 5 years should be a fraction of todays costs anyway.

Had seen the 840 had issues but that the 850 is OK

Was going to go with an M2 drive but will wait for the Intel 750 pcie drives to come down in price and upgrade down the line.

I have the 250gb evo and it's been great. I did want the Pro, but unlike a M.2 drive, the speed difference did not seem to matter that much.

slightly higher and more iops

you wont be able to tell any difference though tbh,its not worth the extra £

the larger the size ssd the faster it is anyway
