96°C is waht i was told for Proper tea(by that I mean none o this fancy earl grey, rooibos, peppermint, cammomile etc... Nonsense) for Jasmine I've heard it's 85°C.

If you're going to use a bag use a decent one ffs! I use Yorkshire Gold. Bag in mug, sugar if required. Boil freshly drawn water. Allow boiled water to settle for a minute. Pour in water.
