Resident Evil 2 UDK

Fingers crossed that doesn't happen Moothead.

Next in the list capcom, a hd remaster of UN squadron. (in my dreams, I know it'll never happen)

Well, I am for one excited as resident evil 2 was one heck of a classic ps1 game that was for sure. Fond memories of re2. Do you think they will keep the tank controls? I cannot see many newer players enjoying the older tank controls..

Herbs anyone??

Another vote for tank controls, they have to stay loyal to the original.

Remake in the same vein as the latest Resident Evil remake and that would be just dandy.

Lol imagine if they announced call of duty style perks and cover system with levelling system and free to play in app perchases. I would be like so long re

I for one cant wait. I wouldn't even be adverse to a RE2 with RE4 control system as I love that game. I don't understand all the hate for the later games. They have been very profitable for Capcom and to be honest have not been as horrendous as people make out. Yes in places they were a bit dodgy but even so they were entertaining and pretty vast.

Oh and I would also not be adverse to a Farcry style game on an isolated island with the scope that Farcry 3 and 4 had but with Zombies, Mutants and Monsters... Now that would be my idea of bliss even if they were Las Plagas controlled.

My flame suit is on.. Hit me! LoL

Do you not count The Twin Snakes as a remake? :D.

Although I would like to see another remake of MGs, they'd have to lengthen some areas of the game.

A current gen remake with the fox engine would be awesome. They would definitely need add new areas and possibly new bosses as well.

I would hope that Capcom will stay true to the gameplay that made the original 3 RE games so great in the first place, fixed camera angles and pre rendered backgrounds are a must! I don't mind if it has a choice between tank controls and updated ones, I played the HD Remaster with tank controls but switched to using the right analogue stick to turn on the spot on the harder difficulties as it was so much easier to dodge enemies.

I purchased the remake cif re1 and erm I've not even played it yet. That is poor , I'll try and get to it soon, as I've been told its an excellent remake of a classic game..

Re 1 and 2 were firm favourites of mine on ps1. Along with destruction Derby lol

Resident Evil 2 fan remake is no more, at Capcom’s request

Resident Evil 2 Reborn, the fan effort to remake Resident Evil 2 in Unreal Engine 4, has ceased production.
InvaderGames, the team responsible for fan-made project Resident Evil 2 Reborn, has announced today that the project will not continue. Reborn, was pitched as an Unreal Engine 4 remake of Resident Evil 2, and showed great promise.

But now that Capcom itself is remaking Resident Evil 2, the publisher requested the project to be shut down. According to a post on InvaderGames’ Facebook page, Capcom invited the team to meet with the developers of the official remake and discuss development ideas.

“Capcom called us up in advance of the announcement and asked us if we would mind stopping the project as they had longer term plans for a Resident Evil 2 Remake. They have invited us to a meeting to discuss further ideas,” reads the statement.

“Even though we cannot complete the project of Resident Evil 2 Reborn, we’re happy that what we’ve shown has achieved consents from worldwide fans and especially has been noticed from Capcom itself.”

InvaderGames ended by thanking fans for their support and said that they will use what they learned from working on Reborn in future titles. “Once more, we’re very grateful to Capcom for having noticed our work and having appreciated as much the love we feel about the Resident Evil saga as developing videogames.”

Resident Evil 2 Remake is built from the ground up, not a remaster – Capcom

Capcom’s latest investor report referred to the recently green-lit Resident Evil 2 project as a “remaster,” which the publisher has confirmed isn’t the case.

Capcom recently announced that production has begun on a Resident Evil 2 Remake, which as the name suggests, wouldn’t just be a simple remaster.

However, the publisher’s financial report for Q2 2015 referred to it as a “remaster,” and left fans in doubt of the game’s nature.

Thankfully, this was just an error in translation, as Capcom UK’s marketing director Stuart Turner has taken to Twitter to placate the masses.

The Remake is without a release date, and we know virtually nothing about it. We do know, however, it will be produced by Yoshiaki Hirabyashi, who was pushing for the game to get remade in the first place by submitting his pitch to Capcom.

I was always under the impression it was a remake anyway. Game is too old to remaster really.

Good to know for sure though. I am guessing late 2017 or early 2018 for a release. Really looking forward to it.
