Yup I completely agree.

I tell ya what i did notice on that list that I forgot about... Onimusha! They should revamp that. Its like RE but with Ninjas and Samurai! :D
 
i just remembered. one of the bedrooms in the guardhouse, on resident evil 1 had particularly eerie/odd music. im not sure why because nothing major happens in that room. it was the only room to have that musical score in the game. anyone know why?
 
I think my wife would love a remake of RE2. It's her fave in the series. She really enjoyed the Gamecude one on PC a couple years back and said that the style of gameplay and backgrounds etc still worked really well.

Problem is, we as gamers are our own worst enemy. Check out Game Theories recent videos regarding this as it's quite interesting to see the stats in sales. All we ever do is complain about modern games and say we want more old school styles again yet the games that DO something unique and interesting hardly sell at all...yet get huge recognision by gamers. so why are we not buying hwat we keep saying we want???

We are all guilty of it.


Saying that, I think Resident Evil has been so messed up lately that going back to what the old shool fans want would actually bring in NEW fans and sell more. If RE7 comes out similar to RE5 and 6, then sells well thne gamers hreally should never complain ever again!!

I'm guilty of it with Transformers. Do nothing but rip on the Bay movies but I still go to see them at the cinema, then buy the Bluray...
I thought Re6 was one of the worst games I've ever played to completion, but I bought it didn't I!!
 
Resident Evil 2 was an absolute classic, it's a travesty that Resident Evil 6 sold so many more copies than the classics!

Might just be that gaming is more mainstream than ever and the knuckle draggers far outweigh everybody else.

Probably a mixture of many things really yeah. One being that people like to complain and with the internet have the chance to do so easily, and often!


RE6 is meant to 'appeal to a wider audience' (I hate this saying...urgh) but I'm quite surprised that it was relatively successful sales wise because despite them moving away from the survival horror mechanics it didn't seem to have mass market appeal to me. They made it purely action, but kept a lot of the clunky controls so to me it played out as one of the worst action games ever.

Clearly it sold on the name alone but I doubt they could get away with that again after 6 as it was pretty much uinversally panned as being utterly awful. (other than a few small sections with Leon).


Be interesting to see what they do next though that's for sure. The Evil Within has a lot of Survival Horror fans excited so will RE compete with that, or continue on it's way to oblivion?
 
Oh nice haha.

A proper remake in the same vein as the GC remake of the first game would be so good. Although to be honest going back and playing Resi 2 on the PS1 isn't as bad as you'd think. Its aged decently.
 
Yeah I normally have a run through it once a year and still enjoy it. It's still tired with mgs 1 for my favourite game of all time.
 
I can't believe they haven't redone RE2, the first has had all sorts of love with remakes on different consoles, find it hard to understand why they haven't done the same for 2.

Cracking game, would love a HD remake.

Here’s what was posted by the firm’s R&D Division 1:

“We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all Resident Evil fans, for your passion, enthusiasm and continued support for the Resident Evil brand. Enthusiasm for a Resident Evil 2 Remake is something we’ve been hearing from you over the years, and has drawn some recent attention in the media.

“However, as the team owns the RE brand, we’re not certain how we feel about this approach, and would like to ask your honest and frank opinion about the “Resident Evil 2 Remake” and what the brand identity is supposed to be about?”

Obviously, fans came out in droves to offer opinions on what they would like to see in an RE2 remake, whether it be a complete revamp or an HD re-release such as Resident Evil HD Remaster.

A few hours and 9,444 comments, 2,435 shares and 6,471 likes later, “H” from the company’s R&D Division responded to the fan feedback.

“I was told by my boss to check out the post by “R&D Division 1″ on the Resident Evil Facebook page, and THIS IS AMAZING,” the post reads.

“Thank you so much for your passion and continued support for Resident Evil brand. He was also telling me…“can YOU make a worth seeing game to answer these fans full of passion???”

“This order actually makes me SUPER excited…!!!”

So, does this mean a Resident Evil 2 revamp or HD upgrade is now going to be in works? Who knows. We sure as hell hope so.

Overhaul the lot like they did for REmake. Keep the story true to the original, and characters. But add new stuff in there. Pre rendered backgrounds (4k resolution, downscaled to 1080) New character models. For god sake keep tank controls. :) :p

Add news weapons. New enemies to keep it fresh feeling, but similar.

If they did the same job with this as they did REmake, they could have a masterpiece of survival horor on their hands. I cant help but feel though.. the generation of gamers today might not appreciate it.. :/
