Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

Ordered from Vodafone online store Tuesday night, showing 2-4 working days to collect from my local store. Now it's saying 1-2 weeks.

Worth ringing the store to see whether it's there? My order tracking is still on received.

Some of you may have read about my issue after purchasing one of these handsets.

After 5 weeks and many angry phonecalls and broken promises, I finally received my refund this morning for the Smart Ultra 6 that never turned up at my local store.

What finally worked for me was using this form to send an email to Vodafone UK CEO Jeroen Hoencamp's team. It is safe to say that I will never, ever give the Vodafone Group another penny after this abysmal and stressful situation.

Just buy the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 guys and screw Vodafone's shocking customer support.

But it's more expensive, not as good, looks like crap, and personally I've never had a problem with Vodafone. Been with them for a few years now, initially on contract, then they offered me 12 months sim only (unlimited texts, mins and 3GB data) for £10.20 a month when I rang up to leave. They moved to a new billing system recently and my bill shot up by £15 (was now being charged for the 3GB data), and it took one short phone call to sort it out. I've also found their network to be the best across various regions of the UK.

You don't need to be with Vodafone to have the phone though. Just buy it from their website without a sim and unlock it for £3. Still can't believe how good a phone it is for the money.

The front facing twin stereo speakers are excellent and loud, the specs are the same.

Oh wow, totally worth paying £75 extra and dealing with a skinned android for.

In other news, I picked my silver Smart Ultra 6 up earlier. No problems and loving it so far. Crazy how they're selling these for so little. Android has improved a lot since my HTC One X too.

Is there anyway of getting rid of Message+?

The 4.7 inch version lags far less than the Smart Ultra 6. It isn't skinned at all except the icons, which you can fix with a custom launcher.

Nice size, phenomenal speakers, good screen and Vodafone is a disaster of a company to deal with. Good luck getting a refund.

In my experience I've never had a problem with Vodafone. Why would I want a refund?

Also, the 4.7" Idol uses a Snapdragon 410... No thanks.

You can get the 5.5" which uses the 615 (what the Smart Ultra 6 uses), which won't lag, is a smaller and more managable device.

If you ever have a problem with it too, just go back to Amazon.

If you have a problem with the Smart Ultra 6 be prepared to get nowhere unless you go via the CEO's office...

My Smart Ultra 6 isn't lagging...

The Idol 3 5.5" is basically the same size as the SU6? 152.7 x 75.1 x 7.4 mm & 141g vs. 154 x 77 x 8.4 mm & 159g. Wow, a couple mm smaller and 18g less. So worth £75 extra.

If I have a problem, I'll go back to Vodafone and get it sorted like I've done before with no issue.

Like I say, good luck with that.

Anecdotal evidence goes both ways. You really need to lose the chip on your shoulder about Vodafone and the SU6, or just stop posting in this thread when you've got nothing worthwhile to add.

Literally anyone could post your posts in any other phone thread about a different phone network, and it'd be just as meaningless and annoying.

What all this talk of lagging? I came from a Galaxy s6 and dont feel like ive been shortchanged and more than happy with performance?

I agree Vodafone is pants for customer service as I have dealt with them in the past. But this phone is great, if I do get a problem they will swapped it out for another one. So far, so good. No lag or performance issues.
