Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

Tbh this was a demo model in demo mode all the time (u click a button it turns the demo off so u can play with it) the lag from button presses to it doing something was 2-3 seconds which seems.. slow to me

I mean my current phone is snapdragon 800 but id of thought an octacore would be faster tbh than a quad

That's much slower than my experience. Must be because it was in demo mode.

You may not be as mad on SOT as me but what battery life with what brightness etc are you getting with what useage? I can hit 5.5 hours with a nexus 5 with medium useage on 30% brightness. Do these hit similar?

I've seen over 6 hours screen time with about 10 %.

Regarding lag,I've notice when closing recent apps, some close straight away while some stop and start during the scrolling off the screen process.Surely that's down to the app not the phone ?

Just found out about this phone when researching about the Lenovo K3 Note. The K3 has slightly better specs but needs to be rooted and have a ROW ROM applied.

How are you guys finding the speakers on the Ultra 6?

The speaker as expected is not the best but then I don't think any phone speakers are that 'great' anyway. Sound from my ozone headphones is loud and good quality though.
It does the job though.

Well I've only had it since it last week, but for example today I was out of the house at 7am with 100%, sat nav for an hour to Liverpool (screen on), then playing games and browsing the web for 4 hours whilst waiting for something, then sat nav on the way back for another hour, quick google whilst in Tesco, a couple of phone calls, more games and browsing... and it's now at 40%. I could probably leave it overnight now and it'd still have some juice left.

That's with brightness on the lowest setting (with adaptive brightness on).

RE: the speaker. It's better than on most phones IMHO. Perfectly good enough for listening to the odd song, youtube, loud speaker, etc.

Spoke too soon. Looks like my phone has a dead pixel. :o

Going into town today so I'll speak to the Vodafone store where I picked it up and see what they say.

EDIT: Strange, it seems like it's actually a spec of dirt... but under the glass? I can't remove it and it's still there with the screen off. I'm tempted to return it and get the Xperia M4 Aqua instead.

The £80 one is the Smart Prime 6. Still good value, but not as good as the SU6.

So after arranging the return this morning (which took 45 minutes of holding and being transferred), it appears Vodafone have deleted my entire plan!

My SIM doesn't work, my online account shows no number and no active services. Can't ring 191 as I don't have a landline.

Went on with the online chat earlier and the lady just said it was a technical issue and she's raised a priority ticket, but couldn't say how long it would take.

EDIT: Just had confirmation from another live chat operator that they mistakenly cancelled my contract as well as arranging the return of the phone. Oh well, time to move to a new network.

My faith in Vodafone is being eroded finally... :o

There's nothing stopping you buying a SU6 and using it on another network is there ? Or are you tied to a vodafone contract ?

You'll need to unlock the device (see earlier in the thread how to do it for cheaps) as it has a network SIM lock but otherwise - nope.

Indeed. Sadly I'm still returning mine because it's got specs of dirt under the screen somehow that can't be removed and now that I know they're there it's just going to annoy me. Plus my experience yesterday has left a sour taste in my mouth for Vodafone.

Annoyed that I chucked the box away for the Orzly case, but oh well it was only £4.99.
